Peter of the BC comic strip?
Actually, I think he's just the first to invent a friction free hub so a human could stand on the pegs.
Merf was the first to discover the wheel (not exactly the same as inventing it). He inadvertantly dislodged a 7 ton round rock at the top of a large hill. Even though he was able to outrun it initially, he discovered that 'a rolling stone accelerates downhill at a constant rate' - this was known as the first of Merf's law. Later additions to the laws had to be made by Merf's family - the Merfees'. Fittingly, Merf, the town's fire safety marshall, was the first peson to be cremated, as his hut burned down during the wake leading to the Merfee's first addition to Merf's original law - 'Being dead right won't make you any less dead'.

Ok folks lets get this right, Mother nature was the inventor of the wheel. The first known wheel used in history was a potters wheel used in Ur Menopotarnia about 3500 BC.

The inventor of the wheel is Knoggin the Cave. Such a brilliant guy. One day his wife Doris ate a mammoth, she couldn't even move. So Knoggin came along and rolled her home.
Not accepting autograph requests. lol. sorry :)

Knoggin the Cave is generally accepted as the inventor of the wheel. In actuality it was his wife, Doris the Cave, who thought of using logs to roll home the heavy mammoth they had just hunted for dinner.

I always thought a caveman invented it, but, yeah, it must have been his wife.
