The Gospel means good news and always taught the atonement. It is the reason we have Christianity. To say that through the years there were never sects as in any religion that follow different sure we have those cults today however the Gospel is pure and teaches the atonement and resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ as always. Some of these cults are believed to have contributed to the Qu'ran which does not believe in the trinity or the atonement and it appears some Jewish fables have also found their way in to the Qu'ran as the II Targum of Esther which teaches fables such as Ginnies or Jinn.

First of all, it is impossible to discern whether ALL people of a certain group believed the same thing. Because it is an historical fact that Jesus was cruficied (at least that is my understanding), and NOT a religious belief, it is unlikely that there were many if any early Christians who did not believe that Jesus was crucified. Anyway, what is the definition of a Christian? Isn't the crucifiction a major point in the definition? Obviously, we say as Christians that Christ died for our sins, but I suppose you would have to believe he died a different way to still be a Chrstian and not believe in the crucifiction. Not sure how that would work out...
Anyway, are you trying to get an answer here or are you just advertising your little video link??

No. Many scholars found out that the story of Jesus' crucifixion was not widespread except after 70 (when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans). The Unitarians doubt the crucifixion story and the concept of salvation through it, and so does the Docetic doctrine. An English scholar, Enoch Powell (sp) made a thorough and accurate research, in which he concluded that the stories of the crucifixion were fabricated some 40 years after Jesus' ascencion to the Fourth Heaven. The Gospel of Peter reveals a dialogue between Peter and Jesus. In it, Peter asks Jesus:
"Oh savior! Is it you that is on the cross?"
To which Jesus replies:
"Lo! It is my look-alike whom they're ignorantly torturing and here I am, laughing in the heavens."
Islam denies the crucifixion of Jesus and the Koran sternly denounces this belief. The pope declared the Jews innocent of Christ's blood a few years ago, and this was because the Christians' uncertainty about Christ's execution.
