I've been dating him for a few weeks now, and I know he's definately bisexual (he's male, I'm female). He's really shy and quiet and nervous around people, even those he knows quite well - both male and female -and originally tried to ask me out 6 months ago by asking me if I wanted a drink when we were out with friends (he's never done this to anyone else in our friendship group that I know of). He'd broken up with his boyfriend a few months before. I had a partner at the time, and now I'm single again he's asked me out properly. But I'm wondering if he's fully gay and not just bi, how do I tell? He hugged me, linked arms with me and snuggled up on the sofa when we went out and contacts me pretty much every day (we live two hours apart so don't see each other all the time). But he feels a bit cold to me, is he just being really shy or is he just testing to see if he'd ever want to be with a woman? Please help as I don't want to misread the signs and get hurt again.

he's had a boyfriend before - but he wants to date you. Simply, that means he's bisexual! Don't try to read too much meaning into how he hugs you or how he supposedly seems "cold" - it's all pretty simple, he likes guys and girls.

If he has had a bit of bum fun before and has now decided to try the strawberry mivy, but hasn't yet, then I'd say he's a beaver leaver. Gay men feel very comfortable with similar personalities, this will last a little while, and then he'll go back to the todger, branding you as a fag hag. Be very careful.

You'll probably be better off telling him that, since he's bisexual, you'll never be able to have a relationship with him. Let's face it; even if he's bi (rather than gay) you'll never completely fulfill his sexual desires, right? And if you don't want to get hurt again, you shouldn't be in a relationship with someone whose desires you'll never be good enough to fulfill.

So, stop worrying about whether or not he's gay, and move on to a relationship with someone who is neither gay nor bi.

"He hugged me, linked arms with me and snuggled up on the sofa when we went out...." that is sweet, some people prefer to take things slow, especially if they are shy. My bf started out very shy and slow and made me wonder if he was really interested, it just took some time to get comfortable and get out of his shell (but now he can't keep his hands off me! LOL)

how can you tell? well, you can't, unless it comes down to sex. sorry but that's just the way it is.
many a gay guy can make eyes at a woman, or be flirtatious, but when it comes to action in bed it ain't happening.
from what your describing it's been pretty innocent between you two, and with the distance in between he may be just dating you as a boost to his confidence that he's not gay, rather bi.
he may have deep feelings for you, but that doesn't make him gay or bi, it really comes down to physical attraction.

I'd say move on to someone that knows what they want. It sounds like he's still trying to figure out his own sexuality. It can cause you a world of hurt (not to mention exposure to STDs).

You need to proceed with caution. He may not be equally into men and women. He may like men a little more. Give it some time. You'll be able to feel him out a little more.

I think he is gay but that does not mean that his is not attracted to you. He may just be trying to see if being with you is what he might want someday. Please dont't take affense to my words because there is a possibilty that I could be wrong about him. He might actually be trying to be with you and not still think about being with other men.
