I had to leave work early today because I did not feel well. My vision got very blurry, and I almost blacked out. I felt very very guilty for leaving, but did not want to chance getting worse, since my job involves a lot of walking. I hate to be a burden on anyone, but someone who was already there filled in for me without any problem (it is her position, but I filled in for her because she was on special project). What can I do to show her I appreciate what she did?

Bring her a cupcake, or a flower, something small, it is a really sweet gesture, and she will love it!! If it is cold where you are, maybe a Starbucks coffee, or hot chocolate, and tell her how much you appreciate her covering for you.

The world needs more people like you, hope you are feeling all better now.

Offer to fill in for her when she needs to leave early for some reason. Give her a plate of cookies or something and tell her thank you so much, I really appreciated your helping me out.

you could hand her a thank you card and a warm smile or you could replace the thank you card with a flower or a candy box.

if you want to do more you could take take her out to lunch or offer to fill in for her and ask her to take day off and relax herself.

Either take her to lunch and if that is not possible, get her a small token of thanks, a card or a cup of coffee a candle. If you know what things she likes get her a little something to say thanks. Don't overdo it; it isn't like she delivered your first born or gave you a kidney.
