The Bible has quite a few relevant instructions, some already mentioned...moderation, a little wine for health reasons, proverbs talks about the foolishness of drunkards actions and thought process, Jesus turned water into wine at a party, and drank with his friends, and said we should always think about him when we have a drink and a meal together, which is memorialized in communion, but should also sometimes be done in a less formal way. It is also important to remember that the Bible says not to do things that will cause others to stumble or that will cause needless offence, so if you know someone who's trying not to be tempted to fall back into alcoholism and they ask you not to drink around them, or you know someone who is a rabid tee-totaller, it may be wiser to simply abstain from your God-given right around these folks.

Good question! Finally, a good question!
Well Ephesians 5:18 says "Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit."
So it doesn't say there that you can't have a drink, just not to be drunk right?
According to Titus 1:7 and 1 Timothy 3:3 "elders, pastors, priests" are not to be associated with strong drink...if you are a believer the Bible calls you a "priest." Did you know that? Well, for sure if you are in a position of authority in the Church it is not wise for you to be associated with it in any way.
Christian Liberty, or the freedoms that a Christian has in his or her salvation are vast. This decision to drink or not drink is between you and the Lord.
Just remember not to be a stumbling block to unbelievers by being in a situation where you might be drinking and lead them away from the Lord.

My mom is one of the best Christians I know but even she'll have a beer or 2 on a hot day, or a glass of wine with a nice dinner...Even on occasion a few too many margaritas (that's 1). You should just be cautious of what you say & do even more so when having alcohol. Everyone knows it lowers you inhabitions, which could make you say or do things you wouldn't normally!

That is up to you. If you can drink alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, or hard liquors and put them down, stop when you want, not have it cause problems, then go right ahead. If it causes problems, you get drunk every day, blackouts, arrests, puke all over yourself on a regular basis, then maybe not.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (Mormon) and a revelation was given in the 1800's to our prophet Joseph Smith called the Word of Wisdom. In this revelation, the Lord commanded us to abstain from alcohol, coffee, tea and tobacco and any other harmful substance (such as drugs). Because of this, LDS who of course follow that commandment, are generally more healthy and live longer.

Drinking is not the problem it is how much you drink that is the problem.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and he forgave them so drink what you want. It is not a sin to drink.
