Well actually, the President (who is in office until late 2008) is REQUESTING money from congress until 2009. Congress has to approve it, which I hope they don't. They need to stand by what they promised us.

Because in order for alot of the executive orders to go through and be effective there must be a continual state of war, regardless of where it is. Notice how easy it was for the focus to shift from Afganistan to Iraq. Also note the buildup in the Persian Gulf as well as the continual fist shaking at Iran. Once Iraq is "done" we will simply move on to the next area, hence the continual state of war.

An example of the policies such as the Military Commisions Act.

Also keep in mind that the U.S. District Attorney just told congrass that we don't have habeus corpus rights because there is nothing in the constitution that says we have them, just that congress can't take them away. For those of you who don't know, habeus corpus rights are things like speedy trials, jury of your peers, etc.
