Use warm salt water rinses several times a day, over the next day or so to ease the soreness. There really isn't anything that can be done, such as a suture unless you really stabbed yourself a good one. The bleeding should stop by using just gentle pressure on the area with a clean damp towel. You should be fine in a day or two. Watch out for those killer taco chips! Everybody does it. Good luck.

The mouth and gums heal very quickly. Perhaps rinse your mouth out with water (usually I would use salt & water, but the taco chips would be very salty) or with Listerine mouth wash. Keep your tonge away from the cut, and don't eat any more chips. It will heal by itself.

A little warm water with salt in it gently swished up to the injured tissue a few times a day. Avoid hard, spicy foods and cigarettes. If it's painful take some ibuprofen and apply some OTC numbing gel. If the area worsens or becomes inflammed, call your dentist.

There is a product called Gly-Oxide that can be found in most drug stores that is a peroxide based oral cleaner. If you rince your mouth with this it will eliminate all the bacteria in your mouth and this will allow the cut to heal faster. This also works wonders if you are prone to canker sores.
