Here is my situation: My ex and I have been officially broken up for almost a year now. We were on & off again for two years and the relationship was tumultuous at best. I am friends with one of my ex's really good friends. We hang out, talk, meet at the bar, etc. Everything is platonic, but I know my ex's friend likes me. He has said that on more than one occasion. It's awkward to me b/c he's friends with my ex. I am also afraid that if I do start dating him, he and my ex will get together and 'compare notes' or whatever. (Am I being too stereotypical about guys?!) I think he's a really nice guy, but I don't want to cause a rift in the friendship that he has w/ my ex. To date or not to date? That is the question.
Your advice and opinions are much appreciated!
(honest answers only please! snide comments not welcomed).

there is a saying in Spanish "Es mejor tener un buen amigo que un mal amor" which mean its better to have a good friend than a bad love...so if he is really tight with your ex i would just remain friends with him. And a real man would not compare notes..and if you think he would do that then why would you want to go out with him?? Anyway remain friends with him longer and see where things head

My advise, don't do it! If you do date him, they will NOT be friends. Guys don't compare notes about you, rather self notes on why you picked the other guy. But it will cause a rift that can't be fixed. If you REALLY think things will work out, and he's not just another boyfriend, they yea OK, but if you're not sure, don't even go there! Is ruining their relationship worth what you're willing to give him?

Guys only "compare notes" on girls who have dumped both of them! Don't worry about his friendship with your ex - I'm sure he's not worried about it (men never pass up on a good opportunity with a woman just because his friend was dating her before - only girls do dumb stuff like that!)

So, go on, date the guy!

There is no reason not to date this guy if he asks. His friendship with your ex should have nothing to do with it. I've divorced and remarried, and remain on good terms with my ex. Nothing wrong at all with that - and it sure as heck was easier on the kids from my first marriage! It's called being an adult...

a million. Yeah. that is glaring the adult men do no longer want him decrease back. Dallas basically in no way particularly ordinary him first of all. the reason he did nicely in long island is with the aid of the fact the followers, and that i assume the team did additionally, ordinary him. I bear in mind them chanting "Re sign Avery!" one sport. 2. No. Oh, no. human beings generally over look the certainty that he remains a experienced hockey participant. sooner or later we will all look decrease back at this and be like "If in basic terms he might've stored his catch close...." he has the flair to do good issues. 3. ok.....Sean is not any the place close to as undesirable as Emery. Avery provides one hundred% on the ice each and each evening, and there are nights that Emery makes a decision he's not even displaying up! C'mon now........ 4. i like Brett, yet i think of Dallas ought to apply a transformation. 5. None. he's served his time. the real punishment might've been to have made him play that Calgary sport! 6. that is waaaaay to early to predict this. 7. No thank you. 8. Fortunatel for us, Avery is not any the place close to as undesirable because of the fact the different activities "undesirable adult men" Does Sean beat his spouse? Heck no. He does not actually have a spouse. He does not actually have a female buddy! He in basic terms has "sloppy seconds"! Does Sean Avery dogs combat? No. Does Sean Avery have a considerable drug concern? nicely, no person here particularly is familiar with of, yet I doubt it. Does Sean Avery slack off while he's taking part in and basically no longer care? NO. Why do you think of he says those dumb issues? because of the fact he's giving his one hundred ten% and that's basically how he provides area of it. He gets the blood flowing. Sorry for sticking up for Avery lots. i be attentive to i flow to get thumbs down from all those Avery-hating maniacs, yet pshh, who cares. that is their concern for dropping their time. this may well be the final time I upward push up for S. Avery at present yet i'm attempting to make my factor clean. The NHL could be grateful. Our best concern is Sean Avery calling a woman his "sloppy 2nd" whilst others activities have dogs struggling with, drugs, loss of being concerned approximately their activity, spouse beating, and stabbing girlfriends. you be attentive to? All that loopy nonsense.

You really should do whatever you want because you owe your ex nothing. It's your potential boyfriend that will have to worry about the friend vs. girlfriend issue. If he can handle it, why can't you?

First off, I love your name, you must be a Beatles fan.

Second, you need to get away from them ASAP. It sounds more like those two guys should be dating each other instead of you. You deserve better than either one of them can be.

As much as I want to tell you this would be okay, I just can't. Too many maybes and what ifs. I think you should pass this man by and go to the next.
