About two weeks ago my girlfriend of 2 years (and living together for most of it) left me. She was hanging out alot with one of my good friends. She was actually spending more time with him and less with me. I got angry one night brought it up while she was hanging out with him and hung up. She came home, crying, upset, and kept telling me nothing was going to happen. Well it eventually did. She was supposed to pick me up from work one night, but she called and said she'd be late and to get a ride. She told me she was with him and they were meeting mutual friends (which they did). But I got home got upset because we had had plans that night to stuff and yelled into the phone in false anger that our relationship was going to sh**. She called back crying. I arranged to meet up with her. I met up with her we talked and I thought things were fine even though she seemed to be having doubts. Well they hung out a night later and ended up kissing. When I got home from work she broke up with me

After she broke up with me I was very upset. I stormed out fell into a snowbank and couldn't stop crying. She came out got me brought me back in and told me she'd take it back. I told her no its what she felt and thats what mattered. I repeated over and over that I loved her, but I had to leave for a bit. She ended up calling him and he came over to get her. After that she didn't want to talk to me. I found out that 2-3 days later that they had started dating. I respect it with all I have, you can only feel what you feel, but i'm hurt immensely. I feel like our 2 years didn't matter and I was never really the one that she kept telling me I was and even asked for a ring less than a month prior. She's moved everything out of my house. I go home now and all I think of is that I took things for granted, put more time/money into my car than my girlfriend and realize how badly i've f***ed my life up. I just can't stop hurting. I want her in my arms right now. I want this to be a nightmare.

But I really want things to be good for her, all I ever wanted was what made her happy. We never fought badly until this one time. Sometimes we fought over little things, but I didn't realize that our relationship had gotten to this point. I want more than anything right now to just be "good friends" with her as I don't think I'll ever stand a chance again. I honestly truely don't want to love her anymore. I just want to be around her and hang out like we never went out. I want things to go well between her and her new bf. I hope that if they get married they'll invite me. I've even said this to both of their faces. I don't hate either one of them. I just want her to be happy and to still be able to be friends with them. I just hurt inside. I've gotten drunk twice this week and 1 time alone by myself. I just needed to write down and express my hurt someplace and this site seems to have a lot of good advice and good advice givers. I don't want to hurt anymore. I want to be friends.

They are both great people and I really hope things work for them. I'm the one that I guess pushed her away. I just want this to stop hurting so much. I can't stop thinking about it. I want them to be my friends, I want things to go well between them and I just want to get over this. I need help and advice. :-(

*Oh and I don't wanna bother her. I know she doesn't really want to talk right now. I only came here because i needed advice on how to get over this and what I should feel. I just feel empty, alone, and hurt. What hurts me the most is I don't think our 2 years of being with each other and living together really mattered to her. I want to know it mattered and I want to be her friend and support her and her bf. I know it sounds weird, but stuff happens in life. They kissed and it helped to end our relationship. Right now all I want is for her to be happy and to know that our 2 years wasnt a waste.

**Update. I forgot to mention that I talked to her a few mins ago on the phone. She needed to get something back from my house. She was just talking and her new bf was with her and they seemed like they were just having a great time. She was laughing and so was he. I want to be like them. I wanna be over this. I know I'll love her as long as I live and I know she still loves me (but not IN love with me). I just want to be done with these painful feelings. I just wanna be able to be friends, hang out and laugh at life like they are doing right now.

I feel so bad for you. Believe me, I understand the hurt you are going through, it is awful to say the least. It is normal at first when ever we feel the pains of a broken heart to blame ourselves. I don't think you spending money on your car was the reason she left you. I really think it was SHE who took the love you gave her for granted. All couples have problems, sometimes we are able to work at them and then other times we are not. It sounds to me as if she has been playing behind your back for some time now. The pain of it all blowing up in your face now is tragic. You need to get help and support from friends and family to help you get through this. A broken heart is a horrible journey we sometimes forced to take, and it is a rough journey to say the least. But unfortunately you have to take this journey in order to reach towards the road of recovery. I so wish I could take away your pain , but only time can do this. In time you will see, you feel start to feel better, and believe it or not, but one day you will find a girl who will appreciate you and love you. You will one day look back on this and be grateful it happened. Just take this as a learning experience... I myself am currently broken hearted, as many people are too, so you are not alone. My best to you!

Better to find out now than later. There was something drawing them together before or she would not have been hanging out with him so much. He's not much of a friend to take advantage of this situation...and she apparently can't be trusted or take responsibility for her actions

She wasn't a good girlfriend anyway. You'll find someone better. In the near future she will end up doing that to your friend and best friends are forever. While relationships come and go.

Sounds like she likes him more than you. Move on and learn from this case that you shouldn't be jealous but sometimes there are good reasons to be jealous. You being jealous is not what caused her to cheat but her feelings for the guy. You are not to blame because you liked her.

Learn from your mistakes.
It will take time to let it go, but respect yourself and wish her well.
You will find someone else eventually.
It sucks. Better than your wife of 3 years leaving you for her boss 22 years her elder because of his financial status...trust me on that one. You'll get over it. just takes time.

man you feel bad for you and her. but it seems that she was going to end up doing something with the guy because if she rather spend time with the guy than her own boyfriend id be worried. she might say that its only a friend and you could trust her but it seems to me like she was taking advantage of your trust because she would ditch you to be with him. good luck .
