The fact that there were other wannabes does not diminish the real thing. It's a bit like saying, "with all the Elvis impersonators, how you prove who Elvis really was?"
There are two reasons why we are convinced Jesus was the Messiah. First, the Old Testament gave prophesies and predictions about the coming Messiah. Jesus's life fulfilled every one of them to the dot. He was born in Bethlehem, taken to Egypt as a baby, and raised in Nazareth. The OT predicted all these things. Psalm 22 described a crucifixion, which was not practiced in Israel until the Romans showed up. Detail after detail.
The other reason is the fact that His claim has been documented. Four gospels, written within less than fifty years of his death, all claiming the same thing. If they were so wildly inaccurate, surely the people would have remembered what really happened. Records from Roman officials prove that Roman police did in fact crucify Him. And the Roman officials were never able to explain what happened to His body.
There are many more reasons, but this is a start.

The fact that He claimed to be, and proved He was the One and Only Son of the Most High God. Jesus did miracles, and most important of all, He died on the cross and then came back to life after 3 days saving all of those throughout history who choose to love Him.

He had a good PR team. The clever buggers targeted the right market, the Roman middle and upper class, whereas the other bunch were all ministering to the poor, the disposessed, the infirm. You know - the sort of people who are too lazy to get a job...

motives why the "gimmick" grew to become greater well-liked to visitors develop into because of the fact of his heel turn, hassle-free and easy. It develop into in 2009 while he made the turn and it develop into Jeff Hardy who helped CM Punk make that transition into making the "gimmick" stand out greater. bear in mind, Jeff Hardy has a history of drugs, so as that they capitalized on the "gimmick" on Jeff Hardy, which made experience. It develop into the heel turn that made CM Punk greater greater handy to precise the character in a snobbish, conceited way in accepted heel style. CM Punk, as a face while he spoke develop into good, even though it wasn't something that could particularly grab your interest. With all of this heading into 2010, bear in mind, he develop into in a feud with Rey Mysterio, (comparable to Jeff) who's between the main loved wrestlers interior the WWE. The faction of the promptly part Society develop into to function greater to his heel character. It wasn't WWE occurring any form of marketing campaign going against drugs or something like that. They have been basically pushing CM Punk and including layers to his character. BQ: Punk being promptly part isn't a gimmick, that is his genuine way of existence. The CM Punk character you notice now's particularly the comparable CM Punk from until now his time interior the WWE, yet basically toned down somewhat. BQ2: That has no longer something to do with the which ability of promptly part. BQ3: that could be a risk. he's between the main standard wrestler appropriate now in at present's industry and that they might desire to no longer kill the momentum. i'm predicting he's going to have the call as much as Wrestlemania or possibly even somewhat longer than that.

Raised from dead, miracles signs and wonders to name a few.
In religious circles many people do not care about you at all unless they feel your going to take there money from them; Matthew 21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

The dying part is real easy but the coming back brings a little attention to yourself.

if you go into NYC, you will meet at least 5 people claiming they are the messiah - what makes jesus so special among them - he has a big *ss book written about him

Nothing. He was a character based on all of these "messiahs" most likely.

If he really was the son of a magic sky pixie and performed miracles. fed thousands at a time and raised the dead there would have been more written about him and it would have been written as it happened, not decades later.

Advertising, charity, and ultimately, self sacrifice made him more appealing then the other "messiahs".
