i believe i read, that dreads have been used by MANY cultures all over the world. and you dont have to have dreads to be a rasta either. so whats the deal?

Well you should of known that before that dread lock are associated with the rasta culture. Especially Jamaicans know I not saying they were the first but Jamaicans were the most known to wear that hairstyle and also know to be Rastafarian . Now i see white and even Asian people wear dread locks where did they get it from the Jamaicans.

You should have expected that to happen when you decided to get them. Most people associate that particular hairstyle with that culture. Jamaicans are known for their lenghty locks. If you're being honest, you can understand why people would make that assumption.
