i would like to do some volunteer work?

i would like to know how what are some good sites or agency that i can volunteer for i want to teach english in the dominican republic in local schools and i think tha's a good non selfish way to spend my summer helping other people and i would like to know what is it like to do volunteer work and what are the requirements to do this and can i do this if i only have a high school diploma but i am planning to go to college please help me as much as you can this is my first time doing this

If you want to do a lot of meaningful volunteer work without all the red tape, do a local (or trip to the Dominican) trip through Habitat for Humanity. They build houses, but you need NO experience, and they'll take anyone, and it is THE most fulfilling volunteer work I've done!

I would suggest that you work through your local volunteer center. They can connect you to various non-profit agencies that specialize in the type of volunteer work that interests you.

I volunteer through my volunteer center tutoring children at the local libraries. For any type of volunteer work, the most important thing to have is a desire to help others.
