I think that's a very subtle and insightful question. My immediate answer was yes. Extremists are terrifying. The more I thought about it...the more I questioned my first thought.....I should start off by saying i'm an agnostic....and have no belief or faith....but....if I were to have a faith based experience, it would require total devotion to whatever that expereince was. I think any real faith....by its definition....is complete. That requires total dedication. Almost by definition, faith rules out moderation.
What this leads me to think is.....faiths that don't include moderation are the problem. Not the actual devotion or faith. The problem isn't how much you believe.....it's what you believe.
Did this make any sense?

Yes. It also includes moderation itself.

Sure, I am a Christian, but my life has been balanced.
However faith is in everything you do, but not the only focus of your life.
I have devoted time to God, family, work, community and country.

do not disheart your self simply by fact practically all Holy Prophets went by this technique lots harder way and abused by human beings of ignorant of their cases. yet Prophets and Messengers confirmed super potential and took organisation stand what they meant to assert and preached what they meant to preached in accordance to the will of God Almighty. save doing solid issues alongside with spreading reality and Message of Peace from genuine organic faith.

Probably, being too zealous can make you overly-judgmental or angry and lead to negative feelings

No, pagan earthgirl. What "they" say is just the problem.
Maybe if you heard what God has to say, instead of listening to what man has to say, your attitude would be different. And, your life would be, too.

"THEY" - are not God and are by no means smart enough to know.
