There have been many cases of people claiming to be healed of Aids, especially in south africa. Unfortunately almost all "faith healing" cases are not real healings, and people end up in more trouble than when they started.
There was a great documentary on HBO a few years ago that followed faith healers. They showed some of the fakers, and followed some of the preachers who honestly believe that God is healing people through them. Benny Hinn was the main preacher that sticks out in my mind because I had gone to some of his crusades before seeing the show. He is an honest man and believes that he is doing God's will. The documentary showed several people who went to his meetings looking for a miracle. Many of them left, having been told they were healed by God, and they were very happy. Over the next 3 months, 90% of them found that their affliction came back. Most of them were told that they lost their Faith, so it was their fault that God's healing departed. Unfortunately, most of them believed it. It is the same ploy that Amway uses, you are not successful because you are not trying hard enough, not because the system has failed.
It was a very sad show, because it showed families with kids with Lukemia, the kids died, the parents are left wondering what might have happened if they had enough faith, and struggle on.
Really opened my eyes

Some people who test positive for the HIV antibody never develop full-blown AIDS.
It is thought that there is a co-agent that must be present for the HIV to develop, but no research has discovered it (last I heard).
As for a cure for AIDS, because the virus mutates so rapidly, it our immune system simply can't keep up with it, so it's thought that no cure WILL be found.
As far as the God part of your question; if you believe the first verse in the Bible, you should have no problem with whether he CAN heal someone of AIDS, whether he would is a question no one can answer as His ways are far above my ways, and His ways are beyond me finding out.

There are absolutely no credible reports of any person, at any time, ever, having been cured of AIDS or any other syndrome or disease through prayer or divine intercession. Absolutely none. There have been numerous testimonials that claim such healing, but when attempts are made to confirm them, there is no existing evidence to back up the testimonials. Save your breath and support stem cell research with your money.

There are now many very long term survivors. It is my understanding that it is possible to reach a "permanent remission". I believe it is then catergorized as a chronic illness in remission, meaning there is always a possibilityof the virus becoming active.
Yes, I do believe God can heal anything. That is why there are so many longterm survivors,God has brought them this far. His helpers are the caregivers and medicines, the researchers.

Actually I remember reading something about this 6 months ago. I am sorry I can't cite my sources, I can't find it.
In some study they used 4,000 people with chronic diseases.
First group, made them pray for themselves for God to cure them.
Second group, no one prayed.
Third group, they didn't pray, but they had other people praying for them including priests and etc. They didn't know someone was praying for them.
Results:
First group generally got better/a little bit better.
Second group, not so much improvement, if not at all.
Third group, no improvement either.
Which shows that it wasn't God that helped them. It was their will power, the belief and hope they will get better. There are couple of cases where people got themselves cured, through brain focus.

i do not know of anyone being healed of AIDS. As far as God healing people...of course he can! He made our bodies and He can fix them, no matter what is wrong. Whether or not he chooses to do so is a reflection of His sovereignty and not for us to question why.

I saw a documentary about some missionaries from my church (who I know personally) healing people of AIDS in Africa by the healing sipirit of God, so yes. That is, if you believe it.

Yes, there are several accounts of complete HIV remission. Biologists are trying to determine the mechanisms involved. No, we shouldn't believe god heals anyone of anything, since there is no evidence of that.
