I bought my first wig in November. I finally got the nerve to wear it out after wearing it in the house for a few days. People who came to my home during those first few experimental days always commented positively. When I went public--it was at a fancy event, held at an exclusive hotel--I was the hit of the party! Everyone commented on how beautiful I looked. The huge smile on my face had something to do with it, I'm sure. I would look at myself in the mirror--days before the event--and bust out laughing at myself. I projected this comedic attitude when I finally went out. Your attitude about how you look and feel in your new wig will have the biggest impact on how you're received by the people you encounter.
P.S. I had help in the wig store. The woman who helped me was knowledgable about face shape, complimentary coloring, etc. Hopefully, this was also the case for you. If not, maybe doing this first would ease your nerves and boost your confidence.

I don't, but I thought the two answers above were pretty good: Wearing it around the house and wearing it on vacation.
Another thought: Try wearing it at Halloween and see how you feel; it's an appropriate occasion to "change" your look for a purpose and probably won't feel/look so out of place for you.

No, but for a laugh when you're next with your boyfriend and things are getting serious, pop into the loo and wedge it down the front of your kaks, took me two days to stop laughing when I done that, and about eighty pound in bus fares to see him in the unit until he recovered enough to leave.

to itchy. crack: I did not understand one word you just said. Anway to answer your question, I think you should go on vacation somewhere and make up a story and be a totally different person like talk with an accent and just be the total opposite!
