Vista looks sweet. I bought a laptop with it on it. But it does have it's glitches.
I installed a program, an Adobe one, and it froze during installation. So I go to add/remove (which is in a different place now), then I try to remove it becaues it gives an error message to reinstall ... but I can't remove it because that file is missing.
There are many, many programs that aren't compatible yet with it. So, try with caution.
However, I'm completely satisfied with my laptop. Even with the programs I have that I can't run, I can run my essentials like Office 2003. I'm definitly not going to purchase Office yet. I love it's interface, it's got some neat added features like 3-D flip, part of Windows Aero.
The other thing, so far I'm having a wireless glitch. If I turn off the wireless by FN F2 I have to log out and back in to get it to work again. It's not too big of a deal, it does work, just a glitch. Minor and I'm sure I can figure out the fix for it soon.
You might want to wait a few months before getting it, if you can't handle the glitches right off. It's nice though.

lots of the advancements had to do with bugfixes that ppl hated in Vista. It has extra advantageous compatibility with older classes and a nicer interface. another very minor we experience advancements such as you may alter the settings of the UAC panel. yet is continues to be the comparable Vista interface the comparable filesystem the comparable registry, the comparable in terms of device standards. base line if u like Vista very plenty you will adore abode windows 7, in case you have a loose improve useful choose for it, in case you'll be able to desire to pay then we sell you watch for abode windows 8 that would desire to be released in a no longer so distant destiny. Right now it's not worthwhile upgrading to Vista if you've got XP working well for you. There's bound to be bugs in Vista that Microsoft will wind up issuing patches and Service Packs for, so hold off until it's more stable.
