hell yes! i went there about 3 yrs ago and had a ball. The cool thing was for me that the people reminded me a lot of the people back in australia. They were all really open minded which in my experience is rare ( italians are really set in their ways lol) A few thing to do -
There are heaps of farm houses that serve up traditional piedmontese meals. If you love asparrigus & pollenta this is the place for you!!
In Torino visit Superga, its this huge basillica that over looks the city and a long way back the whole Torino soccer team hit the dome and perished. Very creepy at night but there are always people around!
Another sort of touristy thing to to is to go see the shroud of turin, the only annoying thing is that they only take it out ever so often so chances are you probably wont see the real thing.
A few clubbing places -
There is this place called Empire which is meant to be the biggest club in southern europe.. that was pretty cool. lots of soccer players and a giant lake in the middle of the action.
If you want to experience proper Turin nightlife there is a line of clubs up along the river Po which i think was called Murazzi. A lot of young people hang out there and its really cool and laid back.
Shopping in Torino is pretty good. depending on what you like. If you're into designers and have lots of cash to spare the city central is for you. Otherwise they have a few shopping centres and markets scattered around.
Hope this helps!

Piedmont has a great touristic value, but its really... undervalued, so it could cheaper than a lot of popular usual holiday resorts! From Turin, in less than 70 Km on every direction you'll find every kind of cultural or fun you may be eager for: from skiing to lakes (Lago Maggiore, a nice town on Piedmont side is Arona) to quiet countryside towns (sunny in summer, if you like going for a walk between greenery), from museums (Egypt museum in Turin is second only to Il Cairo's!) to fairs, exhibitions; for both culture and fun :-) you may found places renowned for wine culture ("culture" in all ways) like Monferrato, Langhe or Bassa Valsesia; nature reserves (smaller ones are even more interesting: in Langhe and Alta Valsesia, f.i.). Usual fun places like discos are everywhere in big and small towns (you have to have look at "Igloo" in Varallo Sesia :), and you can find the more important museum of entomology in Europe (yet again, in Varallo), :-D
Piedmont is very important for Italian history (here begun unification and Turin was the very first capital), culture, art, architecture, industries, historical culture of industry (Ivrea was known as "The Italian Silicon Valley" till the nineties, and there in the sixties was invented the real first "personal computer"); Turin is also known as "La Città Magica" ("The Magic City") so if you like esotericism and ancient misteries, that's the best place all around Italy.

There is a lot to do in Piemonte. Torino is a good home base as there are lots of restaurants, nightclubs, shops and hotels. From Torino you can take easy day-trips to places like Asti (home of Spumante) and Alba (home of truffles). You can also do great overnight trips to Genova and/or the Cinque Terre National Park. For more information geared to young women visiting Torino, see my personal website below.
