The eleven year old is old enough to entertain herself, so she won't be too much of a hassle. In fact, she could probably help you around the house tonight.

The seven year old will probably follow the eleven year old around and be out of your hair, but in case she doesn't you will have to entertain her. Try a movie approach at first, if that doesn't work then tell she can hang out with you. You will probably be watching the movie anyways.

The five year old and the three year old are going to be your greatest test of all. First, they're both boys, so the possibility that they will fight is greater than if it were a boy and a girl (sorry guys, but its true).

The best way to keep the younger of the two occupied would be to either have fun with him by playing with his toys or by putting on a movie. Since the girls might be watching a movie, i guess you'll be visiting fisher price town. The five year old however will want you to play with him, since you two are closer in age and he wants to feel like a big kid (hopefully, the three year old will feel the same way, so things will be easier on you.)

With the five year old you will have to juggle time between the three year old.

I hope I haven't made it difficult for you to understand what I am trying to say but I expect you to do fine.

Good luck.

All of you can make rice krispy treats, the youngest can pour in the rice krispies. The oldest can help with melting the marshmallows, the two in the middle can help with stirring and pouring the stuff out on the flat surface to cool. They all can help measure and clean up.

The two oldest can read books to the two youngest. The two youngest can read a book to you. (They can look at the pictures and tell their own made up story)

The oldest can cut out pictures from a food magazine and create a menu and become a chef. The 7 year old can be a waitor, and the 5 and 3 year old can be customers in a resturant.

You can do silly make overs (with parents approvals) with the girls. Do their hair silly and put make up on them....but make it silly not 'grown-up'. THEN they all can do a make over on you.

The youngest two can pretend the bath tub is a boat and you can tell a story about sailing off into the ocean, encountering a hurricane, fighting off a big shark, and sailing back home.

A PG movie is an easy choice. There are a few out there that have subtle enough humor so as to be enjoyed by adults. Crafts are also a great way to keep kids interested and entertained. You could make a popsicle stick house, create a massive art piece by taping together many pieces of paper and having everyone draw, color, and/or doodle until the whole paper is filled up, origami is wonderful. You can cut the appropriate size papers from templates founf on the internet, It takes practice to learn them, but thats a good thing when your babysitting.

After years of babysitting, my advice is to tire the kids out. If it is nice weather, play freeze tag outside. If it is too cold, play hide and seek inside and let the little ones hide with an older sister. You can also make up games like races to see who can hold their breath the longest, who can do the most jumping jacks in a minute. You can give them little prizes like stickers, or a drawing you made as a reward. Remember to make up some games that the little ones can win, like who is the shortest person... Their parents will really appreciate that you tired the kids out and it makes the time go by faster. Good luck!

You could have the 11 and 7 year olds watch a movie and play a game with the two younger ones.

Its pretty cool to have a selection of activites to bring with you, so that there is always something to keep the kids busy. Ive learned that although tempting putting the t.v. on for the whole time and having them entertained that way is always the most impressive thing for the parents to come home to. Plus parents seem to be pretty impressed when they come home to crafts or things that there children have made. For the younger kids, it might be nice to have some cool pictures, you could print off from sites on the internet and have them colour them, for the older girls, sometimes making necklaces from breads and string can be fun, or thread friendship bracelets. Sometimes its nice to do something like put music on and get them to dance around this will make it much easier to put them to bed later if they have gotten some sort of a workout during the earlly hours of the night.

Well a movie thats appropriat for the 4 is usually a good idea but it might be hard finding one so if you cant then try an easy boardgame or play go fish or another card game....the older girls are probably helpful ask them what they want to do and if they have something thatll be fun for all of you they probably will....good luck and have fun I love babysitting!!

There was a game we used to play when I was a kid called "Go to the head of the class". It involved questions for various levels/ages, and we loved it.

The 3 year old obviously can't do it.

Movie would be good. Drawing would be good for everyone.
