I have been from doc to doc over the year b/c I can't catch my breath. C/T scan after MRI and blood work all comes out great! They let me know I have super high anxiety and I received Zoloft. I constantly feel like I"m going to die (Altho all my docs say I'm not going to!) What makes it worse is that my hubby travels all week long so I'm alone! My fam lives out of state and it makes it worse! Anyone out there with this problem and how do you deal with it?

As someone who has had a problem with anxiety for most of her life, I can tell you that stress can cause you to have a hard time catching your breath. When you are tense, your airways constrict, which makes you have to work harder to breathe in...kinda like breathing through a straw. You aren't going to suffocate, but it's still annoying. Instead of getting more stressed because you feel like you can't breathe, try whatever it takes to relax (a good book, movie or chatting with a friend), and you'll see that as soon as you relax, you'll be breathing better. Stress can make you feel like you're going to die, but mostly, it just diminishes your quality of life. I've had chest pains, a sore back, a racing heart and breathing problems because of it from the time I was 8 years old. I'm still alive 12 years later and doing better. Email me if you want to talk to someone who's "been there".

I have had trouble with allergy's causing bronchitis, or shortness of breath. You may want to discuss a good antihistamine or prescription nose spray to open up your sinuses, if yours might be also caused by allergies?

One way to tell is by trying some over the counter antihistamines or nose sprays, just follow directions. If it says do not use for more then 3 days on the spray, don't use it longer. It can make the problem worse if you you use it to often. But the prescription meds are much better and faster.
If Zoloft is not working for you, you really should consider talking to your Dr. about getting off of it, the long term side effects may not be worth the drug if it really is not a necessary drug.

You might want to check to see if you have bronchitis. If I were you I would wait and see what the medicine does. You should ask god to help comfort you. You can trust God to help you out, ask him if you are scared, with Jesus Christ you can't go wrong.
