So my last question was if God appeared tonight at 8pm how would affect your faith.

The overwhelming majority said that it would either enhance your faith or remain constant as you already have total faith, I think a couple also conceded that none believers would have little choice but to get down on their knees and acknowledge that which they have doubted.

Good.

So. That said.

Why is it so important for God that his followers have faith with lack of visible evidence. Given that most of you said that his physically showing Himself would only enhance your faith and ultimately lead to more people worshipping Him.

Then why allow so many to not believe in him because they choose to trust the "god-given" senses and intellect that tell them that believing in a God is irrational.

Is it the case that God only wants people who ignore their senses and intellect to be taken to heaven during the "raptures"..

and if so, then why furnish us with such gifts as the ability to scrutinise??

Yes yes yes, thats all great mate, but answer the question. Why bother with faith, in fact that should be why bother with "doubt"

Why does God wants us to be negative about him, why set up skills in us that would defy his very existence, what is the point of it?

I suppose the "gift" to scrutinize will be blamed upon Satan...

God gave us many gifts to use at our whim. What we chose to do with those gifts is up to us. The fact that he wants us to blindly have faith in him is a test in faith. If you reject him, then what do you believe in? If you believe in the big bang theory which is a great theory and a wonderful read, what created the tiniest elctrons and neutrons to create the big bang? if space goes on forever then where does it end? does it wrap around? There are so many questions without answers. No one can prove god exists, no one can prove he doesn't exist. he exists in our hearts, our souls, in the love we show other people. Our choices are our own with the gifts that we have, and it is all a test of faith.

I am not the perfect catholic, but i believe in god and I ask for forgiveness everyday for the sins i have made and tell him they are not a reflection of him as my lord and they are reflection of me and the poor choices i have made.

God may not be something you can see, or feel, or smell, or anything like that, and why did he give us these gifts? So that we can do what we must with the time we have. My friend, death is just the beginning, this is all preperation to determine if you belong in heaven, some people are so evil they dont deserve to be there, that is why we have these gifts, so we can prove our worth and our faith.

Its all a big test. Faith is an instrument God is apparently using to test humans. You see he could just appear and save millions, but it is more sporting to keep himself hidden from the 5 major senses. That way millions of humans will not be able to pass the test, (some of us are bad test takers) and then suffer the consiquenses of a lack of faith. Eternal hell, or non-existence depending on your denominational belief.

God doesn't want faith failures in heaven. After all not everyone he created is worthy. He offers freedom of will so that hell can be populated.

God says that you are without excuse when it comes to believing in Him. Believing in God enhances our senses and intellect. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Apostle John gave three descriptions of God: Spirit-Love-Light We also know that God is an all-consuming fire and self-existent. He is eternal in the relationship to time. He is unlimited in relationship to the immensity of space. He is immutable in His nature. He is the unity of all existence

Not believing in God is irrational. He even left you a book which no man could word. He could pen it, but he couldn't word it. The Words in the Scriptures, the Holy Bible, are the Words of Almighty God. In the visions given to the penman they could see, but they could not understand what they were seeing. That is why in 1948 the Jews flew home to Israel on the wings of an eagle. How else would you describe an airplane? God gave the vision to write, but the writer had to describe what he saw. Even then the Holy Spirit directed the words.

No mere man wrote the Bible and you will never make me believe otherwise.

to be free to choose your way, either beleive or not believe you are free to do that...and this is the meaning of our life...free to think free to take your way but you are responsible of your decisions because you are given all senses that helps you to find the proofs that he really exists we know that the electron has a negative charge and it bends in adiferent direction than the proton in amagnetic field though we haven't seen both but by watching thier effects and if i told you that all the buttons of the keyboard came together by chance and stayed in the way they are on the keyboard by their own ...you will not stop lauhing at me...it needn't to see the manufacturer of it to beleive that he really exists! so what about this vast universe of all these creatures??
besides that god will not leive his creatures without letting them know the perfect way of their living and how to worship him so he sent his massengers to mankind and all of them came with the same massege of peace and "unity of god" ..this massege was sent by Noah , Ibraham , Moses , Jesus and end by Mohammed peace be upon them all...but humans who made all mess in beleifs and thoughts..and so were the wars between people..
all the massengers were sent by the same god so their message in general is the same ..and what happened then is alteration of most verses of the tora and the bible by humans but still some verses have the massege of god on the other hand the quran was not altered since 1400 years ago and it is one version in the whole world which has no logical contradictions and amazing scientific facts and one of them is :the Embryonic Development which is in the quran and this fact was not discovered by the scientists before the 20th century so it worths to stand and stare away from what we see and hear about this book!!!!
read thorouly the tora ,the bible the quran and other relegious books and choose your way by your own .

It would scare some people and it would make others (Christians) go tell everyone about him.

It is important to have faith in God so that you can glorify him. If we put our total faith in God, and believe fully in him, then we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. We can lay hands on the dead, and they will rise.

God does not want us to follow ourselves, but he wants us to follow him. He will not force us too. He gives us the choice, but whatever we choose, if we choose Jesus, we will go to heaven, but if we choose not Jesus, we will go to hell.

It is not important to God for us to believe with out seeing, It is Important to US, we will be bless by God,for believing with out seeing. Thomas would not believe the others that had seen him, Thomas, said I will not believe unless I place My hand in the nail scares in his hands and place my hands in the wound in his side, Jesus was standing among them and he said to Thomas, here Thomas place your hands in my side and own my nailed scared hands, Jesus then said to Thomas, dont be faithless any longer, believe, Then Jesus said to Thomas you believe because you have seen me, BLESSED are those who have not seen me and believe anyway, God gives us the senses to no right from wrong and gives us the right to choose light from darkness, and the right to do right or wrong, it is not called irrational it is called living in darkness, Intellect, means to choose, the ability to reason or understand, a very intelligent, Person. any one with normal ability to reason, can come to ones senses, make sense to be intelligible or logical. And some people are sense-less people who are unconscious, and stupid and foolish, And they are meaningless, and can not meaningless, perceived good sense..that leaves one irrational ...You should always scrutinise everything you are involved in or with but choosing the right way from the wrong way is up to ones self, Just like Thomas, God bless the USA and Israel and All...scrutinise your soul, and your mind and heart, and see what lives their,
