i think so....it probably depends on the emotional investment made in the relationship and it also depends on what other things are going on in their lives...for instance.....if you have alot going on then you probably wouldnt be as affected by the loss of the other person in your life simply because you are too busy to notice much, or if you were experiencing a painful relationship it might be so relieving to be away from the other person that the feeling of separation might not enter into your mind...i hope this has helped some

Yes, it's completely normal.
I think one of the biggest things that people don't realize is often a person can be getting over their significant other while they're still in the relationship. Maybe that person can already imagine life outside of the relationship or is already starting to feel interest for someone else.
This doesn't mean the person is cheating, it simply means they're already starting to distance themselves from the relationship, even if it's only in their mind.
On the other hand, the other person in the relationship may have never imagined life without their boyfriend/girlfriend. So when a breakup comes, it takes a lot more time to even get used to the idea of life outside the other person, and even longer to move on.

How much you suffer depends on your level of attachment. Breakups usually happen when one person is feeling less involved and attached to the other. So, yes it is normal for one person to suffer and be more hurt in a breakup.

I would hope that they do effect you differently. This means that you feel differently for each person. If every break up hit you the same, then I would say that you're a selfish person who is only concerned about himself.

Because it takes you a different amount of time to recover from each breakup, that means that sometimes you were really into this other person, and sometimes you weren't.

yes it is normal. the person that suffered the longest was obviously more attached so its naturally gonna take them longer to move on where as the person who wasnt attached as much will move on quicker

That is actually typical. Very rarely do relationships end mutually. That means that someone is almost always going to have a tough time with it.
