One that teaches that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, that teaches that Jesus is God and that teaches that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only valid gospel. Also, one that teaches that the blood of Jesus and only the blood of Jesus saves. Beware of false teachers and false prophets---they are everywhere. If they do not teach ALL of the above, then stay away from them. Do not get suckered in by appearances and flattering words. Beware of the glitter and glitz. If a church or Bible school does not ask you to do anything other than attend, then find somewhere else. Christianity is a vocation of service. Sitting with your rump in a chair all day long is not service----a person must use his hands if he wants to make his heart strong. A strong heart will go a lot further toward true spiritual growth than any amount of classroom work or pew sitting. May God bless you and be with you in your pursuit of the pulpit. You will have to spend some years in another man's ministry learning the ropes before you will be ready to venture out on your own. Be patient and learn all you can from anointed people. Never forget to love and forgive, and never forget to have fun. Laughter will always get you through the dark times and you can expect to have many dark nights.

You should definitely go to a Seminary. Alot of denominations don't require that for a pastor to be ordained. And that is why there are so many "uneducated" pastors in terms of the Bible. I think that is really important. You really need to have do serious study before you can be prepared for being a pastor. You could go for a Masters of Divinity or a Doctor of Ministry. Either one is a really great way to be prepared! God bless! :-)

For one thing, if God is calling you to preach the word then you don't need to go a bible school because the Lord will give you the insight. Bible institutions may be nice, and can help, but let's not forget that the Lord God can do anything, and through his power in your heart all things can and are done. Continue to pray, and the Lord will show you the way.

Liberty University is a good one.
Wheaton College is another
Criswell College is another.
Once you get your B.A. somewhere, you can enroll in a seminary.
Most churches will not select a minister without a degree from a seminary.
The bigger churches want at least a masters and many look until they find a doctor.
It is a competitive field, and good ministers are in high demand.
I think you will find that a certificate from Universal Life Church will not get you an interview for pastor anywhere that you would want to go.
They are looking for accreditation.

What demomination are you? Most seminaries cost something. If you don't have the money for a church, you probably don't have the money for school. Pray for God's direction where to go to school and to provide the funds. I'd suggest any Bible based church will be able to get you on the right course. I'm in an assemblies of God church and studying to get my ministerial liscense. It's $100 for each course.

The pattern laid out for us in the Bible is to become a son first, then to be sent out by your father. Timothy was a son to Paul, learning, before he was sent out on his own. Whatever church God has placed you in is where to find that father figure. Submit yourself to your pastor, ask him to disciple you personally and train you toward what you feel is your calling. Not all pastors attend Bible school. It's probably a good idea, but not a neccessity.

You need more study...
You can be a pastor or 'Reverend' by contacting Universal Life Church. www.ulc.org
You have to still work on 'what' your game plan will be.
As for money - - - people will give you money - - invest wisely.
I knew a guy who conducted his services in the garage.
TRUE > > > It all started millions of years ago in the caves to celebrate a good hunt with no injuries and the chiefs acknowledged some how something protected them.

My father-in-law is a pastor. He went Baptist.
He went through Divinity college. Never having taken the course myself, I can't say for sure what it's like. But from what I've read, it seems like a very open-minded course.

Which one is true? If you dont know that, what kind of calling are you having?
If you are serious talk to your local pastor/church about getting involved and what the process is.
I recommend you volunteer within the community first before making such a big step.
