What is the purpose of the Vatican? Why is the Catholic Church involved in Politics and corruption?
Vatican is totally unecessary. Why would a religion build its own country?
Why does the Catholic Church act a political, lucrative organization, and not as the religion it is supposed to be?
Why doesn't the Catholic Church distribute its wealth among the people who really need it?
Why does the Catholic Church have its own bank? The Catholic Church is not a financial institution, is it? Oh! wait, I need a loan, where do a find a CC bank? How much will they lend me?
It just doesn't work that way.
I just don't know why people still believe in such organization. It's OK to worship Jesus. I'm not against that. It is the Vatican and its corrupt organization that bothers me. Jesus was born poor and died poor (according to the Church - What a paradox). Why would the Catholic Church want to accumulate as much wealth as possible?

A serious question? I think you need to go back to school to learn the difference between a question and an attack. You aren't asking a question, you are attacking the position of the Catholic church. It once served as a center for the Catholic religion, back when the world seemed smaller. It is still the center of the Catholic religion, a place where the pope lives, as well as the higher cardinals and where the doctrines and laws are made.

The Catholic church does distribute it's wealth. It helps the poor and sick. Just because after each person we help, we don't call the newspapers and pat ourselves on the back like the celebrities of today do, doesn't mean we aren't helping. Tell me, when you give to charity (If you give to charity) do you call the newspapers for a pat on the back, or do you just go on your merry way with a feeling of acomplishment. ANd there are those in the church who give up every luxery to serve the poor. They are far better people then you can imagine.

Why don't you learn something instead of hiding behind your hate and spewing forth such bile.

The purpose of the Vatican is to oversee the affairs of the Roman Catholic Church -- that should be simple enough. And, since religious issues often intertwine with political issues, the church does take a stand on certain things that involve how people's lives are lived.

Whether the Vatican is unnecessary is a matter of personal opinion. Since the Catholic Church is organized on a worldwide basis, it does need some kind of an overseeing body. It is not a for-profit organization, and it does redistribute the wealth. I didn't know about any banking system, but if the Catholic Church organizes its wealth more efficiently by having its own banking system, why not?

People believe in this organization because of its sound theological doctrine, dogma, and of course its history and claims to be the one true church. If the Vatican is that corrupt, and not blessed by God, then shouldn't it have failed a very long time ago?

Whether Jesus was rich or poor is not at all a prerequisite for the church. And, the church is about spreading the good news, not accumulating wealth.

The Catholic Church is run by - humans - men. Humans are prone to want more - greed and power are two HUGE items. The Catholic Church has accumulated a great deal of wealth in real estate throughout the world - in addition to the Vatican, (it is the largest land owner in Manhattan, NY, USA). I do believe that the premise of the Catholic Church was at one time good and noble - and that there are good and noble people affiliated with it. However, when power and money come in to play corruption takes over... that is the human factor (or, the evil-factor). The problems comes when people BELIEVE they are in the right just because they BELIEVE God is on their side. It is not just the Catholic Church, but churches through-out the world. Many people don't mind giving over their decision-making to something that claims to be of God. I am not anti-religious - I attend a church (almost) weekly... but it doesn't mean I agree with the institutionalization of God. People with power do not easily give it up.

The Catholic position is that all abortions are wrong. It cannot be a means or and end of any action. The Church would always say that the mother's life is important and that if they was an immediate surgery that might compromise the life chances of the baby, as long as the surgery was aimed at protecting the life of the mother, and if a miscarriage would be the most likely result, that the surgery was permissible, because the miscarriage is not intended. This is an instance of double-effect reasoning which has the following requirements. a) the action must be good in itself or at leas indifferent b) the evil effect must not be intended but only permitted c) there must be a sufficiently weighted reason for permitting the evil effect d)the good effect must follow at least as immediately as the evil one e) the good effect must outweigh the evil

What is a religion supposed to be exactly? Who are you to say? The Catholics have been in power for almost 2000 years and they are the original Christians. Yeah, they are corrupt. So are Evangelical Religions that pray on the elderly to send in money. Religion in general is prone to abuse all across the board. Catholics are no better or worse than any other.

Roman Catholicism is #1 in the major branch of Christianity

Christianity began in the 1st century AD as a Jewish sect, and shares many religious texts with Judaism, specifically the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament (see Judeo-Christian).

There is a diversity of doctrines and practices among groups calling themselves Christian. These groups are sometimes classified under denominations, though for theological reasons many groups reject this classification system.Christianity may be broadly represented as being divided into three main groupings:

1) Roman Catholicism: The Roman Catholic Church, the largest single body, includes the Latin Rite and totals more than 1 billion baptized members.

2) Eastern Christianity: Eastern Orthodox Churches, Oriental Orthodox Churches, the 100,000 member Assyrian Church of the East, and others with a combined membership of more than 300 million baptized members.

3) Protestantism: Groups such as Anglicans, Lutherans, Reformed/Presbyterians, Congregational/United Church of Christ, Evangelical, Charismatic, Baptists, Methodists, Nazarenes, Anabaptists, Seventh-day Adventists and Pentecostals. The oldest of these separated from the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th century Protestant Reformation, followed in many cases by further divisions.

Estimates of the total number of
Protestants are very uncertain, partly because of the difficulty in determining which denominations should be placed in this category, but it seems to be unquestionable that Protestantism is the second major branch of Christianity (after Roman Catholicism) in number of followers.

Wikipedia:
Some Protestants identify themselves simply as Christian, or born-again Christian; they typically distance themselves from the confessionalism of other Protestant communities[11] by calling themselves "non-denominational" — often founded by individual pastors, they have little affiliation with historic denominations. Others, particularly some Anglicans, eschew the term Protestant and thus insist on being thought of as Catholic, adopting the name "Anglo-Catholic."[12] Finally, various small communities, such as the Old Catholic and Independent Catholic Churches, are similar in name to the Roman Catholic Church, but are not in communion with the See of Rome. The Roman Catholic Church was simply called the "Catholic Church" until other groups started considering themselves "Catholic." The term "Roman Catholic" was made to distinguish the Roman Catholics from other groups.[13][14]

Restorationists, are historically connected to the Protestant Reformation,[15] do not usually describe themselves as "reforming" a Christian Church continuously existing from the time of Jesus, but as restoring the Church that they believe was lost at some point. Restorationists include Churches of Christ with 2.6 million members, Disciples of Christ with 800,000 members,[16] The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with 12 million members,[3] and Jehovah’s Witnesses with 6.6 million members.[17] Though Restorationists have some basic similarities, their doctrine and practices vary significantly.

Because it is a 'religion' I understand your questions, I am not Catholic, I don't know your answers but I would be interested in knowing them...
I do think that maybe you should ask them one or two at a time so some wouldn't feel offended.

Jimmy Swaggert told me you can't trust the Vatican, and who was that recent pervert evangelical minister in the Whitehouse carrying photos of male prostitutes with him with Meth. He had several thousand sheep, just like you.

He who is without sin throw the first stone. Get off your high horse.

I get the distinct impression that these are not "serious questions." For some very unsettling reason I feel like you are actually trying to make a point... Meh.

Why would that bother you? Did they talk about that in your church? Even Catholic priests have try to destroy the Catholic church and have been unable to do so. Because the Holy Spirit works through us man, weak, we are nothing but sin. Thanks be to God that rescue us through Jesus blood, not with gold or silver but by His own blood, He has save us. A contrite heart is what I want says God our father. Is a waste of time to look for defects on other religions and a lack of love. I worry about my sins and about what I do, not about somebody Else's sin. I am nobody to judge. I am Catholic and I give thanks to God for finding me worthy of been on His church, of been part of his church, for been the church, because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. I have reasons, humanly speaking to hate the church, because what has happen to me in my childhood. When I was not even conscious of what life was, my father abandon me, I person try to molested me, two of my cousins commit suicide when their were only 21 and 23 years old, and one of my uncle hang up himself in my room, another uncle die of HIV and another cousin die of HIV too; she was only 26. As you can see my life had no meaning at all, and I remember taking a knife and saying: God or the devil, whoever exits, give a meaning to my life or give me the strength to kill myself, because believe me, I could not take it anymore. I said to myself if I am still alive is because God has to exits, so I start going to church and my life change a 360' when I confess "my sins" to the priest and you don't understand that, do you? And when I start receiving the body and blood of Christ, but you don't understand that that, do you? Is all in the Bible, but if God wants some to understand and some not, that is up to Him. I am loved by God and I am no one to judge nor my own brothers not my neighbors. As Christians we are call to live in poverty as in richness, in peace as in tribulation. If this church is not guided by the Holy Spirit as yours why is still standing? Be happy God has given you faith, if you have any? and praise Him all the time. Your worries would not save the world but, been one with God will.
