I can honestly say the only Cop Show I ever watched that seemed true to life was Barney Miller, and then there wasn't nearly enough profanity.

That would be painful, I'd think. TV cop shows are not a fair depiction of a real cop's work.

My ex father-in-law was a deputy (county sheriff) and he loved watching Cops. He never missed an episode.
