They are only available from an optician. Buying lenses meant for somebody else can make your eye-sight worse.

Visit an optometrist who will determine your prescription. The test only takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Your lenses should be ready for collection (they'll also show you how to put them in) in about 1-2 weeks depending on prescription and workload. Some places can even have them ready on the same day - depends on if they have in-house manufacturing.

You can buy contact lenses on line, at least in some states, but you must have a prescription first.
