Just a special candy or a gift for a dollar or under is appropriate, You really don't have to get them anything, making cookies with them or for them is fine too, your time is always the best gift. You don't want them to start expecting big gifts or they won't appreciate anything.

For our family on Valentine's day I don't really give gifts. I want the kids to feel they are special though. I make a special meal. We have fondue night. I went to allrecipes.com and found a cheese fondue and a chocolate fondue. We spend time making the meal together, cutting vegetables and fruit and then eating. We have alot of fun and it makes wonderful memories.

it started out simple enough but when I was pregnant with my first daughter my mother bought her a valentines day bear with the year on it. that was 5 years ago and every year my girls get a valentines day bear, it's a cute way to involve the girls in on a couple orinated holiday. the only downside is how many valentines day bears there are in our home. ^.~!

Some parents dont like to give alot of candy. So if you dont want to give chocolate ,there is something called moon sand i am getting my kids. It is like playdoh but is better. It keeps them busy. Then i make them there favorite meal.

I am taking my son to Build-A-Bear. We go every year and that is our special time together. We been doing that for the past 5 years and when he gets to old for that we will do something else. My son is five and thinks it is the best place to be with his mom.
