I've had tension headaches for 2 weeks straigt, been on multiple meds all has failed, and had two CT scans that came out fine. I have nausea off and on and have a stiff and achy neck. I am irritable and depressed possibly from the constant pain. The doctor has no clue what is wrong with me then it dawned in me. I was in a car accident about three weeks before the headache came on. I didnt bump my head or anything, but there was enough impact to where my head could have jerked enough for whiplash. I saw a chiropractor who did take x-rays and saw a sign of whiplash in my neck. Is this causing my headache? Is it possible the symptoms were stagnant for three weeks? Do I have a case against the liable insurance company? They already accepted liability and paid to fix the car. Still working the diminished value investigation. Help me please! I am in so much pain and want to get better.

Well, the chiropractor couldn't say it was from the accident, but that it was highly possible. But than can anyone really say that it was? I dont have x-rays from before the accident. However, he wrote down that it was related to the accident. He started treatment and it relieved pressure, but my headache is still there. I talked with my primary care physician who said the same thing, that it was possible that is why I have a headache. I just want to know if I even have a chance that the car insurance company is going to foot the bill and pay

I am continuing with the chiropractor treatments and may try acupuncture and massage therapy as well. Along with the ice packs that he recommended. I am really scared about the residual effects. I have already lived with this debilitating pain for two weeks and I am already going crazy. I can't imagine going through it for five years. I feel for you and everyone for having to go through it. I am desparate and will do what it takes to get better. I know it is difficult because the headache is subjective so how can I prove to the insurance company that I am in pain. Yes I guess the X-rays can prove my neck has issues.

I went to Primary Care a second time after numerous calls and meds that had failed. She ordered CT scan to rule out scary stuff, so it was done at the doctor's office. The first one came out abdnormal so they did a contrast CT scan and still found something, but they said it was unrelated to the accident. But talk about stress when they say a 27 year old had a stroke. (didn't happen though) The Chiropractor took the X-rays and he did see signs of whiplash. Honestly I am not looking to make money. I am looking for answers as to whats wrong with me. I am in chronic pain and nothing in my life has changed. I didn't think it was the accident until I started reading other posts where the symptoms had occured days weeks, and months later. I spoke with my doctor and chiropractor yesterday, and they both said it is very possible that it was caused by the accident. The accident is really the only thing that makes sense to me.

What were the "signs" he saw? Anybody can look at an x-ray and "see" things there. If the chiropracter is not helping you, then ask your PCP for a referral to an interventional pain management specialist. He is trained to diagnose these type of disorders. It could be something as simple as muscle spasms that would respond to trigger point injections or you may have injured your facet joints. Both of these conditions can contribute to headaches

Yes, it could be from the accident, however, I would think symptoms would have shown earlier than 2wks. Also, the CT scans would have shown any bone issue, the x-ray would have shown and soft tissue injury, as well as bone injury. If you truly believe it is from the wreck, you should have stated that to the doctor and the chiro the first time you saw them, it's very hard to believe that it just recently occurred to you that the accident may be at fault. What else have you been doing in the last two weeks? Is there anything written in your medical records that you were in a wreck? Did you require medical assistance at the wreck? Do you have a case? Probably not. You've had two CT scans and x-rays all in two weeks,I want to know what hospital you deal with cuz I've never gotten a CT scan that fast and I have severe neck/back injury. I think you are looking for money that isn't there. Good luck.

Try putting an ice pack around the back of your neck for a bit, even if you can't see any swelling it can be internal, most of the time ice will help with headaches, tension headaches start at the base of the skull and if you ice they usually go away. I can't believe your chiropractor did not tell you about that.

Yes it could be from the accident. Request physical therapy as soon as possible. PT could save you from having further problems and curb permanent damage. I was in a wreck and my headaches didn't start for about 2wks then became crippling. I still have problems 5yrs later.

Has the chiropracter not done anything to help you? I would ask his and your doctor's opinion. They are the only ones to give you an opinion. My son who had whiplash was fixed by an osteopath. In one or two sessions.
