Thank you everyone for your wonderful support. I don't usually play the mega millions, maybe a couple scratch tickets, but I thought if I'm gonna play I'll play big. It sucks I or anyone else doesn't have a good chance to win. For the one person who called be a "B" you know where you can go and that is why you will never prosper in life.

The odds are even worse than Powerball; a staggering one in 175,711,536. So if you were able to pick your own numbers, and fill out 20 million entries, and get them all purchased in time you would probably have about a 11.38% chance of winning. Those are not great odds considering you just flushed $20,000,000. Of course you are bound to win smaller prizes, but there is still a very good chance you'd come out behind.

I'd say that in order to make this a reasonable investment, you'd need to see the jackpot reach at least $350,000,000. Otherwise the odds you are playing (about 9-1) would not equal your return after taxes and penalties for taking a lump sum.

It would also not be much fun sifting through 20 million tickets hoping you had won!

You may be interested to know that an investment company tried this soon after the lottery in the UK started (in the early 90's). Now the odds of winning the British lottery is only 14 million to one, so there are fewer combinations to cover. But the prizes are the advertised amount (no installments) and no taxes. The group that purchased tens of thousands of dollars of tickets got volunteers to fill out tickets for weeks, and it was a major operation to organize. They didn't win, and ended up losing a fair bit of money!

According to the Virginia Lottery Commision the odds of winning with numbers you pick are exactly the same as winning with numbers the computer picks.
It is the same for all of the lottery games.

Your chances are terrible. It does not matter if you pick them or the computer picks them. You can win either way. Your chances are the same picking 1-2-3-4-5-6 as they are any other combo. But good luck because someone has to win!

I don't know, but I read in the Lotto that the odds of winning are one in 4,825,632 or something. I don't know the actual number, but it's gotta be higher because Mega Millions is harder to win than the normal Lotto.

you have a chance like everybody else.
one word of advice ,if you win Don't say something stupid on TV or radio, people are very unforgiven .
Examples.I'm going to Disney land .or I'm quiting my job.or i waited a whole month to claim my ticket,or I'm going to pay my family's bill's ,or donate to a good cause .As smart people know better .
Got one better ,im going to feed the world hunger.

not very good. you have to be rich already or mexican to win that stuff.anyways the best way to get ahead is to earn it.it is a fact that ppl that win the lottery , squander it away within the first few years they get the money anyways. good luck

vast win for Bourne, WWE is finally using Evan to his potetinal, possibly he gets a push for the US Championship! that would desire to be cool WQ: i presumed it replaced right into a great Tag team tournament, i purely can not watch for Otunga and Mcgillicutty to lose the belts they are the worst tag team ever, they do no longer look like a tag team in any respect

I don't know the actual numbers, but they say your chances of winning lotto are worse than your chances of being hit by lightening twice.

Sounds pretty slim to me, but I certainly wish you luck!!

Wow...what's her ^ problem?

Your chances are better that you will die in a car crash or be hit by lightening.

And Im not making that up... Statistically speaking, you have very little chance.
