I have friends that are wiccan, or eastern religions, or new age type people... and they talk about living life in a balance, but I can't get an explanation of what t his means.

I'm not talking about Christianity here. Does a little bit of everything include murder , rape, etc? What are you balancing?

From a Buddhist perspective it means not too much clinging and attachment to things you think will bring you happiness and not too much aversion to the things you think are inherently "bad".

From an ex-Wiccan perspective, I'd say it means that you live within your means and with good stewardship of the environment, and from a Shamanistic pov not taking more from the Earth than you need. Not too much of one thing and not enough of the other. A middle way...

It is like saying do all things in moderation.
That helps to achieve balance in your life.

We need to focus on God, family, work, community, and country, and not just on one of these like work.
Many focus all their time and attention on work.
