We are moving to Toronto from Brasilia (capital of Brazil) and we are used to a very modern and active town. The most import thing for my kids are the schools and safety. PLEASE I need suggestions.

As someone mentioned, Beaches is a lovely area. So also is anything near Yonge street with easy access to the subway. Yonge and Sheppard, Bayview, Thornhill and most areas of North York are pretty good too. If you want something affordable and safe the suburbs are a better choice, however, if you think you will miss the pulse of a big, vibrant city then you should definitely find a place in Toronto and closer to downtown. To look at price ranges for different houses and familiarize yourself with the different neighbourhoods you can check out -www.mls.ca

A lot of people are happy in North York or in the suburbs like Mississauga or Woodbridge etc. There are more good areas than bad in Toronto so you have no need to worry. My son is 12 and has had a delightful childhood so far in Toronto.

I would say the best place to live in Toronto is the BEACHES area Woodbine or Queens Quay . I lived at the Harbourfront for 15 yrs and raised a wonderful 21 year old boy. Keep in mind in the Harbourfront mostly have Condominums, in the beaches area their are more houses and appartments. Considering your in the city there is always lots to do.
Good luck.

Best to stick with the outer skirts of Toronto such as Woodbridge, Uxbridge, King City, Newmarket. This small cities are less hectic for families and cheaper to live in. You still have all the amenities around you

Greektown, also know as the Danforth is a wonderful place to raise a family. The Schools are fantastic, there's tons of fun things to do, and the population is multicultural. It's only 20 mins from downtown also
