People who equate communism with atheism are fools. Communism as was practiced by the Soviets, for example, or in Cuba now, is NOT actually communism at all! Stalin's "communism" was actually tyranical dictatorship--the common good, which is the CENTRAL TENET of actual communism, was not a factor AT ALL in the USSR.

CHRISTIANITY, in its true form, is far closer to communism than Soviet-style so-called Communism... think about the true ideals of Christianity (not how most hypocritical so-called Christians practice their faith)-- being selfless, acting for the COMMON GOOD, respecting & loving your neighbors, donating to charity (i.e. giving up your wealth to boost that of others--BALANCING OUT WEALTH!), etc... Jesus was the original hippie, & the original communist too!

Now, most Christians are hypocrites & don't practice their faith as it's meant to be practiced... because a true Christian essentially IS a communist! NOT atheists, who are free thinkers and INDIVIDUALS!

Actually, you are right in a way. The true meaning of communism sounds ideal, if everyone were treated equally. The problem is that people are involved. Whenever people are involved, someone has to take the lead, make the decisions, allocate the money, distribute the wealth. Right there communism is dead because someone has to have some kind of power over the others. That's how it gets corrupted, evil and greedy. If everyone would put God in charge, things would work out, but that won't happen until Jesus returns.

May God Bless you.

Hey you have to think about this better honey!!! Atheist want to believe in doing anything with out having to pay a price!! Christianity knows that there is a price for everything and you have to be willing to pay that price if you want to do it!! Communism is the act of making everyone equal as long as they are all poor while the one dictating is the wealthy!!! Christianity knows that everyone is created equal and everyone is supposed to be just as wealthy as the next!!! The hard fact everyone will learn when Christ comes again is that the ones that oppress and think they can do anything and not have to pay the price will be the ones that are subject to all those that were mistreated to beguin with and they will receive a lower payment of His Kingdom which is the eternal torment of hell knowing that you could have come above in this life instead you gave in to the lies and half truths of the devil!! Look at it this way, you have the devil on one side and Christ on the other, you have the FREE choice to choose which sholder you will turn to follow that side, you don't choose what you want to do, you only choose what side your going to accept!!!

Was that a question? There is some truth to what you say, but Christianity is about a Kingdom to to come not a soviet-style government. Its spiritual not physical.

...Let's see...Karl Marx, the father of communism and satanist..yes satanist...coined the phrase :Religion is the opiate of the masses".

A friend of mine,Richard Wurmbrand, who authored the book "Tortured for Christ", found this out ,first hand. He suffered 8 long years of undescribable tortures under Mr. Marx's teachings for simply believing that Jesus is God.

He also suffered 6 years of torture under the Nazi occupation of Romania for being a Messianic Jew.

At least the communists overlooked the Jew part, but the Messianic part infuriated them.

Christianity, even under pure communism is not compatible with communism.

Another book to check out is;"Was Karl Marx a satanist"? by same author.

First, Christians think every bit as freely as you do, so please come back down. And yes, we Christians believe in a communal system, but NOT a government run communal system which is tyranny. We Christians still practice this communal life our Church communities everyday. We always help each other out and you are welcome to join us!
