They go to a Synagogue instead of a church.
They originated as Nomadic peoples in the southern parts of the Middle East (been a long time since history class in college, but that’s what I remember).
Daily life? That a HUGE question. There is the practice of only eating kosher food (no pork, etc.) that has been blessed by a Rabbi.
They have to pray every day
Their god is the same god as the Christian god, Yahweh.
Dress Code: if you are an orthodox Jew, than there is the practice of not shaving the hair at the temples and so on.
If this is for a school project, then you don’t need to be asking these questions on Yahoo answers! You need to do your own homework or you will get an F. Most people here do not have good information.

God was impressed with Abraham.
God therefore said his descendants would be a special people to Him.
They were the Israelites ....sometimes known as Jews.
Today, they have splintered into different sects.
Some are 'Reform Jews', some are traditional, called 'HasidicJews.'
There is a group, or 2, in-between these extremes.
They don't all believe the same thing.
Hasidic Jews try to follow the Law of Moses, although it is really impossible in modern city life.
Reform Jews, like many Catholics and Protestants, belive what is popular at the moment.
Jews who go to a religious place, call it Temple.
Their God is the Creator. They call Him Yahweh ....Jehovah, if you wish.
They are still awaiting the arrival of Messiah, since they reject Jesus as such.
Their hope is related to earthly things, not heaven.

That's quite a long order.
The Jewish Faith is an old one and asserts that it is the first monotheistic faith (more on that later in the post). The Torah (the first five books of the Christian Bible -- or the law -- which are the only scriptures that Judaism considers fully inspired, -- though NOT literally inspired. the haf - torahs (prophets and etc) are considered (almost certainly accurately) to be the writings and arguments of rabbis.) says that Judaism developed when Abraham left Ur (of the Chaldees) and took his family with him.
Judaism is the parent faith of both Christianity, and through Christianity of Islam.
Judaism believes in God -- in the sense of the Father part of the Christian trinity. The worship is conducted in synagogues, often called "congregations" -- as in "Congregation Gates of Heaven."
Beyond that, Judaism is split up into sections, the same as Christianity is split into denominations.
Ultra-Orthodox (fundamentalist) -- these sects have a dress code, and dress as sort of mid 15th century deutchlanders. black long frock coats, white shirts, round or fur hats. They do not cut the corners of their hair or their beards. The most extreme of these sects, such as the Satmar, still teach that the earth is flat and in the center of the universe. There are dietary restrictions (Kosher) and restrictions about who you can touch, who you can see, and when you can touch women, even your own wife. Men and women are separated during worship, and though an ultra-orthodox would make the argument of separate but equal, reality is that women are virtually property.
Orthodox -- these groups are much more modern, but still stay Kosher at all times and partially obey the dress codes, particularly when attending synagogue or praying. Women are still completely subservient.
Conservative -- these groups are yet more modern, a few of them keep Kosher, but most only do so on holy-days. They do not obey the dress codes, though they make some concessions to them when praying or in synagogue. Women are NOT ordained or allowed to participate in certain ceremonies.
Conservative Egalitarian -- as conservative, but women are equal and gays are welcome (note -- the Egalitarian sub-sect is gradually absorbing the Conservative movement internationally).
Reconstructionist -- I'm vague on this, but I think this is where they sit. Keep some of the laws, try to rectify the ancient codes with modern knowledge and (I believe, I am not sure) accept women and gays as equal with leadership roles.
Reform -- Largest Jewish sect by far. Fully modern -- recognize that the Torah is largely a literary construct of historic import but only marginal accuracy (much like mainline Christian). Full recognition of women for all functions in the Synagogue. Full recognition of gays, including full ordination and recognition for all functions in the Synagogue. Support social justice. Support gay marriage. The only branch of Judaism where belief in heaven is widespread. Other branches believe that Sheol (mentioned in the Torah and haf-torahs) is simply a place where all the dead go to sleep.
I mentioned that Judaism asserts it came out of the Sumerian city of Ur of the Chaldees. The only compelling evidence I am aware of for that is the note on Sheol -- Sheol is a Sumerian concept.
Some modern scholars think differently however. When the Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten) took the reigns of power in the 18th dynasty of Egypt -- he turned away from traditional religion and enforced monotheism, with Aten (the sun) as the only god.
In the (approximately) 18th year of his reign (some argue the 16th) -- Akheaten died. Horemhab then became the last Pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, and after a short and vicious struggle against his brother, reestablished the other temples, and began the persecution and enslaving of the monotheists.
Some fairly prominent religious scholars believe that Thutmoses, Horemhab's ... brother? ... cousin?... uncle? -- relative in any event, believed as Akheaten had, and led the other monotheistic Egyptians out of the country -- founding the actual historic people of the tribes of Israel -- who subsequently made up myths about an existence prior to their "time" in Egypt.
Do I believe this? I have no idea, and I don't fully understand the evidence, but I know that there is enough so that I thought since you asked where the Jewish faith and people came from, I should mention it along with their own assertions that they come out of Sumeria.
I hope that helps.

Reynolds Jones

There's no way to go into any meaningful detail here. The Jewish faith is at least 3500 years old, originating in the lands east of the Mediterranean. They are one of the oldest (but not the only) monotheistic faiths, believing in a single all-powerful deity. The so-called 'Old Testament' is composed primarily of the sacred writings of the Jewish people.
There are many different communities and traditions within Judaism, from the ultra-orthodox to modern 'liberal' or 'reform' congregations especially in the US. For this reason it is not possible to generalize about many aspects of Jewish life.
For more information, there are a number of printed and online resources which go into much mor detail. For the best perspective, though, you should ask a rabbi or other Jewish person; and bring a knish to nosh on, would you?
