post up our testimonies too? spread what we believe by telling everyone how wonderful our life is or what our belief has done for us?

ill go first: my lack of being a christian has given me more time to spend with my family, has widened my view of the way others percieve things. im no longer narrow minded and can only see one truth, but i can see how people believe different things. ive become more tolerant of other peoples beliefs, and in the end less irratable by people who dont believe what i believe.

Oh you mean Ex-timonies? Lol

Yes, since I left Christianity I have become a much better, more honorable person, I am no longer filled with hate or blinded when it comes to science. I'm much more tolerant of others. I take responsibility for my own actions instead of just claiming "I'm forgiven."

I have to wonder. If being so open , and excepting of other people's beliefs is so important to you in your new found "freedom". If you see that what Christianity teaches as a waste of time having no more benefit at the time of a person death than what you believe. Why are you here? What difference could it make to you If I trust Jesus for my eternal destiny? Why don't you stop insulting my Lord and my way of life? Just how does my faith hurt you? I have never preached to you. I wouldn't feel much like a Christian if I tried to force anything on you. I ask very few questions on here mostly I defend my faith against your attacks. How is that forcing my faith on you? You all (the asker and most of those who answered) seem to understand what it means to be a Christian. We don't need to tell you again. Our duty before God was to take the message.. Ok you have it if you reject it I have nothing more I can do.. So go ahead tell me how stupid and silly I am for trusting Jesus. Think that my intelligence must be weak. Just remember if you ask me a real question about my faith or my Lord's message to mankind (Bible) I will make the proper defense. Come prepared ready with intellect and reason and we can talk... Jim

Sure...
Since becoming a non-believer, I am more appreciative of different cultures and am more open to different ideas and find morals in every culture. I love to read and find plenty to read and study. I can understand the teachings of other religions and when I feel something is beautiful, I don't worry or fear that Satan is trying to use whatever to deceive me. A lot less fear.
I also have more self-esteem-not believing when something bad happens, it's either b/c I deserve it (according to the stupid logic that we're all sinners and bound for Hell except for the 'love' of God) or I'm being tested (Job- and apparently will never know why) I'm a lot more understanding towards other's mistakes-not nearly so judgemental. And, I'm able to realize that other cultures had morals of their own-some of which are similiar to Christianity.
Yay, me!

Well, since I left Christianity I'm calmer, kinder, have a higher self esteem and am not nearly so angry as I used to be. It's very easy for me to accept that people believe differently than I do, and I'm not frequently plagued by "sinner's guilt". Not that I do much of what Christians consider "sinning", but it took me years to recover psychologically from not waiting until I was married to have sex, because that was such a huge part of being a Christian in my family, and I had a lot of "guilt" issues over that (even though I was a senior in college). I don't have a lot of regrets in my life now - I should have done this, I should have acted this way - and I don't keep people around who treat me poorly because it is the Christian way to "turn the other cheek". I no longer allow people to treat me as a doormat and walk all over me in the name of meekness, but I don't get angry when I walk away from people who treat me poorly, I just walk away. One of the teachings of Wicca is not to spend time in the company of people who are younger spiritually, so there's no call to stay in abusive friendships or relationships in the name of Jesus, and there's no hostility involved in ending relationships that are not mutually beneficial. I don't fear death at all, I'm not as distrustful of others, and overall I'm just much happier, more grounded, and far more content.

Blessed Imbolc!

Rejecting organized religion was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It allowed me to explore all sorts of other topics relating to spirituality with a completely open mind, and I wouldn't have been able to do that if I was believing in the Bible word-for-word instead. There's so much else out there, so many different ways of interpreting things. If I had this mindset of "if it's not in the Bible, I don't want to hear it", I don't think I would have been able to appreciate that.

if what I read are reasons you guys left then you guys didnt understand the faith at all -
more open... I dont remember Jesus ever pushing anybody away telling them they are no good -
more time with your family.... family should be #2 on your list right behind God so the vast majority of a Christians time should be spent with family
less irritable - Jesus never said you had to convert people only spread the Word if they dont believe it that is their problem so it really should not make anyone upset if they dont believe the truth
one truth - well if you dont believe that there is a moral code - like do not kill, do not steel and plenty of other things you are confused

some other answers spoke about depression
thats not God making you depressed
being scared of death - I'm saved and going to Heaven I have no fear of death

I would like to hear from a Nihilist myself. I haven't heard anything from Satanists that was negative, or the Pagans, or the Buddhists. Periodically the Atheists, most often the christians vs muslims vs evolution take place here.

Being an atheist has broadened my horizons and allowed me to objectively explore new and diverse philosophies without any prejudices.

Being an atheist has got me out of depression, erased my fear of the future and death, made me less judgemental (especially of homosexuals) and even made my farts smell like roses.
