Well, not me Sho. Do atheists kill each other since they do not believe in God? Of course not. I don't think a lot of murderers stop to ask their victims what their religion is.

Those that do kill as in murder NOT self defence are not Christian now are they? lol I will say this, if not for the 10 comandments, then there wouldn't have been Christians!! They were given to Moses on the mount cause his people had been raised in total sin and coruptness during their years of slavery so they had to have that bred out of them which is why they wondered for 40 years in the wilderness!! When Moses came down from the mount they were involved in very bad stuff (which the Lord knew) like the worshiping the gold calf, sexual deviance including, orgies, homosexual, pedofilia and probably beastiallity(he wouldn't have been as mad as he was if he just saw them worshiping a gold calf if that tells you there was more to it)!!! So, the tablets were created by the Lord to lead the people in the right direction!! The Lord gave them the start of what He would teach once he was born!! It was a symbol of what was to come of the true Christian!!!

First, there's a more basic question. Why would someone that believes in the Bible kill? It seems pretty obvious that killing is a big no-no with God. What about wars? What about the death penalty?
The simplest explanation is that the 10 Commandments do NOT say "Thou shalt not kill." They say "Thou shalt not murder." Therefore, killing is acceptable as long as it's not murder. Therefore, killing animals is fine. Killing a solider in war is fine. Killing a criminal is fine. Killing is self defense is fine. But "murder" is not.
Now, moving on the meat your question... likely not. You see, it's pretty much universal that putting another person to death is wrong. Virtually every religion and culture has a "law" against (some forms) of killing.
So, it's hard to imagine that Christianity (or Judaism) wouldn't have SOMETHING about not "killing."
If, for no other reason, than we like to have "no killing" rules because it keeps others from killing us.
Note: you may find examples of cultures or religions (Islam is one often mentioned these days) that appear to have "commandments" that encourage killing. This, actually, does not bear out if you understand the context. In other words, what's the line between "killing" (which is acceptable) and "murder" (which is not).

Were Christians and Jews never persecuted and killed because of their faith. Does that still happen today?
Murder, killing, however you put it is wrong, its always wrong, it does not matter if its in a Bible or a law or the Quran or the Talmud or any other religious connection.
Yes, we can defend our lives and the lives of our family and soldiers kill during wars. These things we have no control over, however, they are forgivable wrongs. God knows if we have justification for killing and will judge us when the time comes.
Mass murderers no matter WHAT religion they are or claim to be are meglomanictic, egotists in love with the POWER of killing millions of people. Their rationalization is beyond any understanding.
Still KILLING is wrong...in any society...period. LEFTY

Thou shalt not kill was on the 10 commandments....loooooong before Christ. And yes they would. Many of our military are Christians. It's a matter of choosing the least of two evils

If you study Hebrew the proper translation is murder. Thou shalt not murder. There is a difference between murder and killing but I doubt even you a liberal who see's the different shades of gray will not understand this. If I kill a man who is going to rape my wife it is a killing. If I take a man's life for his car that is murder. I can see by the way you pose the question you are a Christian hater. This isn't even a valid question because you already have an answer made up. What, mr. gutless-question-asker do you think the Holy Koran has to say about killing. Go to your local Mosque and ask the nice Muslime's this question and get back to me if you have the guts.

Why limit this question to Christians? People who are Jewish and Muslim are aslo respectful of The Law. In fact, the Jewish faith is more closely related to the laws Moses handed down from God.
As for specifically Christians, we follow the example of the life Christ lead. If the commandments never exisited then Christ's life would have modeled them for us anyway so therefore you can conclude that we would still uphold the standard.

If God didn't explicitly write it out then man would have probably anhilated himself by now. Mao Tse Tung, who was an Atheist and killed 50 million of his own people, the most citizens of a country, ever, killed by their own ruler in all of human history probably didn't read the bible, or if he did he didn't learn anything from it. Oh, there was one thing he may have learned, which is that the God fearing people if allowed to worship freely can change the world. I guess that would be a pretty scarey proposition for a corrupt leader, especially Mao Tse Tung, since the people he murdered were the religious citizens of his own country.

Murder starts in the heart. When one is saved, the old man is dead and the new man alive in Christ forever more. There has been a heart change. True Christians love each other in Christ.
Christians are only Christians because they have the love of God in their hearts.
It is written in 1-3 John that if someone hates brother or sister, really doesn't have the Love of God in their hearts. How can someone love God who one hasn't seen, then hate brothers & sisters in Christ who they do see?
If we love Christ, we will love our sisters & brothers in Christ. If unforgiveness or criticle spirit sets in, we would feel miserable and repent & get right with God.
Well, I guess we do die daily to kill the lusts of the flesh. When Jesus died for our sins, we die with Him, and when He raised up from the dead, we raise up with Him.

I only do what is explicitly written in the Bible.
For example, nowhere in the Bible am I given permission to ride an elevator, so I don't.
Of course, nowhere in the Bible does it tell me that I can't ride an elevator.
There have been mornings when I've been paralyzed with indecision in the lobby waiting for a clear sign from God in this regard.
YIKES!
