You're wrong, atheists believe in peace and goodness, which is what your god symbolizes. That's what you really want to worship, but your religion told you that god is a bearded man that lives in the sky and sends people to burn for ever if you piss him off. Being atheist means striving to be a good person not because god told them too, or out of fear of hell, but because its the right thing to do. Believing in god has not gotten anyone anywhere, you can look at the history of religion to figure that out. Whats truly important is embracing the peace, love and forgiveness.

They don't believe because they've never met Him. Once you meet Jesus pride goes out of the window. They see the 'mightier than thou' brigade and it's a real turn off. The Church needs to be sincere and honest with folk and then they may see what Jesus has to offer. We have some really 'normal' members of our Church and they don't have two heads (we also have the other type by the way!!). Don't give up.

I am a atheist, because can not believe things like that, is not pride, is reason.
GE 6:5 God is unhappy with the wickedness of man and decides to flood the earth to eliminate mankind. All living things including plants, animals, women and innocent children are also exterminated. (Note: This is like burning down a house to rid it of mice.)
2CH 21:20, 22:1-2 Ahaziah was forty-two when he became king; he succeeded his father, who died at the age of forty. Thus, Ahaziah was two years older than his father. 2CH 21:20, 22:1-2 Ahaziah was forty-two when he became king; he succeeded his father, who died at the age of forty. Thus, Ahaziah was two years older than his father. [Note: Some translations use "twenty-two" here in an attempt to rectify this discrepancy. The Hebrew is clear, however, that 2CH 22:2 is 42. The Hebrew words involved are Strong's H705 and H8147, "forty" and "two," respectively.]

Does appear to be very similar to the dictatorial questions put out quite often by the believers of what is fiction (meaning religion).
How can someone say "gOD is all good, therefore if you want to be good you have to believe in gOD".
The two conditions - gOD & good are not mutually joined.
gOD & gullibility perhaps are, but not the word good.
I hope you continue to find your way to the truth soon and also become atheistical totally rather than being at your semi-converted state as you clearly are.

Its just your pride insulting your true godesses.
Oh and also looking at the relgious total lack of morals with all your sexisim, homophobia, abuse of sexaully active uncoupled young people in teens and twenties. Your attacks on gays, condoms, contraceptives, any erotica or nudity.

To Monica L. -
I would humbly like to ask what your motivation is in asking this question. Surely you cannot believe that such an unsupported insult will help convert people to a belief in your God.
Look into your own heart. I hope I'm wrong, but it sure looks to me like your "question" is motivated by nothing more than " ... YOU and your PRIDE ...".

You're right - I don't want to believe in something just because somebody says it's there. I don't know if pride even comes into it, but it amazes me that so many wars have been fought and so many nations divided over religion. That's all about YOU.

Same question right back at you - you just WANT to believe in god. And it's all about YOU and your PRIDE. And (in your case - I've seen your other questions) your stupidity
I believe in rationality and religion is irrational.

It's about believing in the truth more than pride, and realizing most of the wars on the earth are religious in cause.
