It's not that guys like to be treated like that, but guys like to have a girl who's confident and knows what she's worth. It's the same as the reason why most girls would rather be with an egotistical jerk than a guy that worships the ground they walk on. Confidence is a very attractive thing.
Now use that confidence to tell him straight up that you're flattered but not interested and you don't want him to hang around you as much as he does, it's not cool.
