PlentyofFish.com...is the largest truely 'free' dating site, as it has the greatest number of users. The are other free dating sites of course, but they are the largest, and no, I don't work for them : )
On a side note, many sites use the word 'free' just to pull you in. The 'free' part is in regards to creating a profile on their site. However, to use any of the dating site's services you must upgrade to a 'premium' membership, all this means is that you have to pay the subscription fee. OkCupid.com is a really good one. Lots of tests and ways to find potential matches. Emailing, instant messaging, all of it free!
