It sounds psychological. Keep her eating her recommended daily allowance, to avoid any overweight issues. Stick to a schedule. Make sure there is plenty of fresh water every day for her at all times, that will help her feel full. If she continues I would then suggest removing her bowl until it is time to feed. That way she won't scratch at it, because it's not there for her to think about.
Good Luck.

You seriously need to change your regimen! First of all, if you are not feeding your dog,... get her bowl OFF the floor. You need to set a 'feeding time' once or twice a day and that's it! Be sure you are feeding her a good quality dog food, and the right amount. She should only see her bowl when it's dinner time, and as soon as she is done, ... you should wash her bowl and store it for next time. Only leave her water on the floor. Dogs who are left to self feed all day long almost always become overweight. Your dog is trying to get your attention to feed her, ... spend that time playing ball, brushing, or going for a walk. Maybe she just wants some extra attention. Good luck!

My dog does this to his water bowl. He is usually indicating that he wants some water. I would not feed her a lot each time if she doesn't it about 4 times a day. That or just pick the bowl up off the floor and put it on the table. A fat dog isn't healthy so try not to feed her so much.

Animals in general tend to think that any meal is there last meal. We as humans know we can eat anytime we want, but animal can't quite grasp it. After your dog eats it may very well not be hungry, and instead it's going off its hunger instincts. You have to stop feeding your dog every time he/she does that. Put them on a schedule where they can be conditioned to know when supper is. Typically twice a day. For example, first thing in the morning and after work. That way he will associate dinner time with morning time and after work. Any times work, just be consistent with the times you choose. Overtime your dog will learn. Hope this helps.

She's training you. That's not a food bowl you've got there - it's a "Feed ME!!!" switch! Pick the bowl up when she's not actually using it if this really bothers you. If you leave it down and ignore her, she will escalate the behavior before she gives up. This is called an "extinction burst".
Getting kibble-dispensing, interactive toys like an Amaze-A-Ball, a Busy Buddy, or a Buster Cube will slow her eating down and keep her busy. Letting a dog get fat is hard on their joints - you'd want to avoid this.

just give her the proper amount but give it to her a little at a time. even if a hand full. it may keep you busy but that might help. exercise her more some she will reduce her chubbiness. and take her to the vet for a check to see if she may have worms. but she is training you. my pet did me the same way. but l slowly got her out of that

She has you trained! Seriously, get her on a schedule and stick to it...ignore the scratching and whining...and start taking her for walks to lose the extra weight. This will also alleviate the boredom.
She does have you trained....not to sound rude.

Ask your vet about a proper diet, right for your dog. And stick to it!
She may be eating because she is bored.

your dog just found out that if she does this you'll feed her. Ignore her and keep her to a schedule and she'll eventually stop.
