My 7 year old has expressed interest in modeling and acting. We went to a open casting call and she made a 2nd call back. I am very nervous/concerned as to where this could all go.

Anyone have kids doing this? Any advice?

OK. This is not so much advice as warning. My daughter Loreen wast tall, thin and striking at a very early age. She had a little impish smile that the modeling agent just loved.

A well know agency took her on and she got a lot of work. She loved it at first, the make-up artist, the hair-dressers and the beautiful clothes and tons of attention.

My wife and I were proud of her and bragged about her whenever we got the chance. Loreen eventually was earning $1200 to $2400 a day plus expenses.

At 17 yrs old, she was working in Paris and Madrid. It seemed as though see got an offer from Japan almost every month.

The dream, for me, was over when I realized the lifestyles and the kinds of people she was with 24/7. Drugs sex and runway parties caught up with my beautiful daughter and wrecked her life.

Marijuana, hash, heroine, whatever was popular in the city where she was working. Soon she lost her looks, her tender giving heart, and sadly, her smile.

Loreen's lived in hell for the next ten years before she finally, after dozens of drug programs, found something that helped, and with God's help, go clean and sober.

She no long turns every head in the room as she once did, but she is the most beautiful girl in the world now, to her Dad.
