well it is quite difficult to describe INDIA so quickly so briefly.it's a country with 5000 years of history.it's indus valley civlization is one of the ancient civilization in the world.india is the home of 1/6 th mankind of the world.it is 7th largest country in the world in terms of area.INDIA is the largest democracy in the world with largest constitution.indian economy is 4th largest in the world.indian culture is an epitome for unity in diversity.u can't imagine so much variation in the food,dresses,folk songs,folk dances,classical dances,languages,architecture,traditions,etc in a single country.
indian film industry is largest film industry in the world & creates more then 800 movies annually.india is in the elite group of 11 nations in space technology.it is also among the 9 nations of the world who posses nuclear weapons.
india is the fast emerging country in the field of IT & softwares.banglore in india is equivalent to sillicon valley in usa.indian universities produces annually more then one million graduates annually.it's institutes like IIT & IIM r considerd among the top institutes of the world.indian railway is the 2nd largest rail network in world & it is largest organization in the world employing more then 1.5 million people directly.indian postal service is largest postal system in the world with more then 150000 post offices. indian road n/w is largest in the world.
india is rich in minerals & resources.india is one of the largest producer of coal,iron ore,mica ,bauxite etc in the world.india is the second largest producer of wheat & fourth largest producer of rice in world.india is the largest producer of tea,cotton jute,sugar & banana in the world.india has the largest cattle wealth in the world. daliy more then 1800 news paper r published in india which r largest in the world.
well for starting i think this much enough.for more i can only advice u to visit once here & u can experience .while visiting india don't forget to visit TAJMAHAL our symbol of love.till then auvour.

Since you are french I will suggest that you start from Pondicherry which has a lot of french speaking residents from France Itself.
You may then move of to see all the other parts of INDIA. It will be an Experiernce you won't forget and will beckon you back here year after year.

India is as vast as an ocean.....!
All I can say is that you will find variety of cultures, languages, food.....!
To know India... you must visit the place and stay here for a long time....!! One thing for sure is that you will be welcomed.
