the student id would count as one photo id, if she needs two, she can go to the DMV , take her birth certificate, and get an id card,,, they issue them for people who dont have drivers license (or she could get a learners permit, no driving test required , just the written)

All passengers 18 and over are required to have a valid/unexpired government photo ID. Most young children are not questioned, and do not have issues at the airport. However, if your daughter is 17, then she probably "looks" 18, or close to it. Someone at this age, if not holding a photo ID/driver's license, should definitely take a birth certificate. Even then, it is up to the airport and security personnel. There are no guarantees that she will be boarded. Don't take any chances. Get her a photo ID as soon as possible. For future purposes, you might as well apply for her passport now too. Even travel to Canada and Mexico will now require a valid passport, and those do not get generated very quickly, unless you pay an expedite fee.

Take her to the Department of Motor Vehicles and get a STATE ID.
It is not a driver's license but is equally good. This problem with some of the airlines following stricter guidelines has many people with out a driver's license getting passports and state id's.
I do not know how long the process is for the passport is, but just like with a driver's license the state id can be done in one day.

As far as I know, people only need one form of photo ID to board a plane. I travel frequently and have never had to show more than my driver's license. You should take her to the local DMV and get an ID card. It sounds like you have the documentation already. Her old school ID won't work because it's expired and your ID needs to be current. Check the TSA website for confirmation.

Take the birth certificate to the state (usually the DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles) and get an official state-issued photo id card. It normally costs abut $10 and will act as an official ID and give her more security for travel as well as other cases where an ID is needed.

Are you traveling with her? If so, she'll be allright. My children are 14, 16, and 18 and never need to show their ID if they are traveling with a parent. You have time to go the the Dept. of Motor Vehicles where you get licenses and get a State ID, which doesn't permit you to drive, but is just ID. She could use that and her school ID.

The Student ID will probably not work, because it's not government-issued. The birth certificate should be okay. As for the second form of ID, have her bring a passport; that's always accepted. If she doens't have one, they're not that hard to get.

ANY kind of ID works.
Student ID is fine. Birth certificate probably won't work, just because there's no recent picture.
You can probably get by with just one form of ID- the student ID. The two IDs is just to be extra-safe.

Not sure about the school ID, I would go to the License Bureau and get a State Issued ID card. It will look much like a drivers license. it should cost like 10-20$.
Good luck!

Yes, she can use her birth certificate and student ID...plenty of 17 year olds don't have driver's licensed. Are you going with her to the airport or is she going alone?
