Both because any dog can become a dangerous and deadly weapon in the wrong hands. Denying the fact that a large dog has a bite pressure of 1500+ lbs can weigh upwards of 70+ lbs and is capable of crushing bone, tearing flesh and crushing skulls is ridiculous. What everyone needs to realize is that dogs are powerful, large, carnivorous predatory animals that are just domesticated wolves. I love dogs(have 2 of my own) and I respect them but I also know that in the wrong hands they can become deadly and vicious through no fault of their own..

I say " Dogs are powerful animals with big teeth and powerful jaws, all dogs are capable of using their teeth and jaws to harm people and other dogs... When raised properly by responsible people no dog will ever use those teeth unecessarily, when raised improperly by irresponsible people any dog can and will learn to use their teeth to hurt others."

My Answer-Those who say 'my rottweiler is lovely, therefore those who call rottweilers dangerous are wrong',

My opinion-Those who condemn all Rottweiler because of the actions of a few. It is on the owner

Both statements are very stupid... but the thing about the second group is that it probably does have more merit than the first group. You can see how if their child was killed by a rottweiler would really affect their view on the dogs, but it's not accurate to attribute that bad trait to all dogs of the breed.

Hmmm i do believe it's ultimately the people who make their dogs aggressive. But every breed has a certain temperament that's in their genetic make up. So not every dog can be trained the same way using the same techniques. But positive methods are always a must.
People will always make assumptions and stereotypes without doing the research first. I'm a dog trainer but it's more the people that get the most training.
I think a law should be passed that requires all soon-to-be owners to take classes on animal behavior and proper raising and training techniques.

I won't say either one is stupid. They are just wrong. I used to be terrified of Rottweillers until an old one showed up on our doorstep a few years ago. Someone had dropped him here and he stayed. I was scared to even go outside for a few days. I would open the door just enough to put out food and water for him. He didn't growl or anything at me. So I started by sticking my hand out to him and he didn't try to bite. We made friends. He was a nice dog. We did have to rehome him as we had several dogs and couldn't handle having a large breed along with our chihuahuas. Later on we got a female puppy and she was equally sweet. We got her for protection. We tried in earnest to keep her away from the chihuahuas, not because we were scared she would deliberately hurt them, but because of the size difference, we were afraid there might be an accident with them. That actually did happen when she accidently stepped on one of our chis legs and cracked the hip and had to have surgery.. So we had to rehome her and it broke my heart. A year or so later someone dropped another male rottie at our house and he took right up with me and decided he was my protector. When people would come to look at him he would stand with his front paws on my shoulders and look at him and growl. We finally found a home for him. So I have had a wonderful esperience with 3 rotties and fell in love with the breed. I found them to be very sweet, loving dogs. But I do know that if they are in the wrong hands they can be killing machines. It is all in the breeding and the way they are raised.

the person who says they are all evil. Although if a person really believes that just because there dog is good means all dogs of that breed are good as well is pretty stupid too.

I am a Pit Bull lover and supporter although I am not so delusioned to believe that they are perfect and that they are all angels. The fact is that people are responsible for how a dog will turn out. If you treat a dog well and with responsibility then you will get a good dog regardless of breed. Some breeds require more training and responsibility than others but in the end the rewards are worth it.

Used to have a rottweiler and was told by my father in law that if it ever bit my children that he would come to our place and shoot it. Their dog however is a miniature pomeranian and is the only dog that consistently snaps at my children. I've jokingly told him the same thing I'm gonna take it out and shoot it. Of course I'm kidding plus she too little, too fast and I'm not that good of a shot.

I don't think its as black and white as that. As with every situation there are shades of grey. Yes some rottweilers are lovely, so are some pit bulls and alsatians too, but there are some that have possibly been mis treated or not taught discipline by their owners and as a result have perhaps become aggressive and dangerous. Neither group is stupid, but neither are they correct.

Rotties are big powerful dogs who in the wrong hands mmay be very dangerous. What makes it more dangerous than many other breeds IS its size and weight. Extremely hard to stop a determined Rottie. In the right hands jof a capable, sensible owner, it's fine.

How can you say which group is more stupid?

You know the saying, "Ignorance is Bliss"

We are all ignorant about something.

I have met some very sweet Rottwielers. There are some people who should be banned from owing a rottwieler. They are the ones who give Rottwielers/Pittbulls a bad name.

I don't have either breed and use to be scared of them, but Ihave since then met some very sweet rottwielers and pittbulls.
