add this to the question, isn't the belief in evolution just as much our faith as the belief in anything and if you do believe in it then how do you believe in nothing?

In general, atheists are concerned with factual evidence and historical proof. For that reason, yes, most of them also understand that humans evolved into their current form. Since no analytical, clear-thinking, rational, non-religious person would ever fool himself into thinking that humans could just spring into being overnight, evolution would follow logically even if it had not been proven.

I'm certain that there are some atheists that do not believe in human evolution. The Raelians are an atheistic cult that believes that humans were planted here by aliens.
However, if you are looking to those who see naturalism and rational thought as the basis of their atheism, almost 100% would have no trouble accepting the facts of evolution observed in nature and the theory of evolution as an over-arching explanation of speciation.
By the way, rationality does not require a step of faith because every functioning human employs it to some degree every day. Rationality requires evidence and logic. Belief in the supernatural requires the dismissal of rational thought for at least part of your world view.
Personally, I'm unwilling to forego my rational thought. That's the only way I'll know when I've made a mistake.

No, not all atheists believe in evolution, just the majority.
and No, the belief in Evolution is not a "Faith" because Faith is the belief in something without evidence of its existence.
And we have evidence of Evolution.

i would hope that all atheists believe in evolution, what else would they believe?
reply to 2nd question: belief in evolution is different from the religious belief in God because evolution (and science in general) is only based on things that you can observe. God, on the other hand, can never be observed so you have to "just believe" in him. That's why I don't believe in God, there is no reason for why he doesn't show logical, irrefutable evidence of his existence.
Also, anyone who believes in evolution and knows what it is will tell you that it is a theory and open to revision or even replacement, but so far there has been no better theory that comes from observable evidence.
All of the stuff in the Bible is either common sense, hypocritical, or anecdotal.

Not all atheists believe in evolution. They catch a lot of flack for it but it's their choice. Atheism is one thing and one thing only: There are no deities of any kind. Anything else is negotiable.
------------
The only theory that has more evidence for it than evolution has is the Big Bang / Inflationary theory.
The scientific definition of 'theory' is "a collection of tested hypotheses that describe an overall observation or facet of the universe with such conclusiveness that to reject it would be a sign of ignorance or intellectual dishonesty."
It does not take faith to accept a theory because the theory has massive, verified, multiply-tested sets of evidence. The theories are based on experimentation that has been duplicated many, many times.
Compared to that, belief in a deity has nothing, and does take faith.

No, I once knew a self-professed atheist who claimed he didn't accept evolution. So I asked him if he believed in creationism then, no again. So I asked him how did life get here then. He claimed he didn't know, but that it wasn't evolution or creation. He had a very poor understanding of evolution. Most people who understand evolution accept it as fact due to the overwhelming evidence to support it.
Just for the record, I do accept evolution and I'm not an atheist. ;-)

I'm sure there are some atheists out there somewhere that don't follow the theory of evolution and I'm sure that there are some who have some issues with it. For the most part, most find it to be the best explanation we have right now.
Addition:
It is not a "belief". It is an acceptance of the currently available scientific evidence and observations and the best available explanation tying them together and to the development of species. It is an acceptance of knowledge.

Not all do, there are a few in the wacko fringes that do not, such as the Raelians. I would guess well over 99% do though.
Belief in evolution is based on evidence, lots of it. This is just the opposite of faith which is defined as belief without evidence.

People that are atheists tend to be educated. Educated people know that Humans have not been around since "the beginning of time."
I apologize for the fact that not one responder above me actually answered your subsequent question... While Raelians beleive aliens may have deposited us on earth - this demonstrates that even they do not beleive we have been here since the beginning...
There is no faith involved in evolution. Evolution is backed up by testable facts that have been observed and repeated. FAITH is beleif in things unseen.

It's not a requirement...There were Atheists long before Darwin...But since most modern-Atheists have critical minds and trust scientific evidence, it would be difficult to find one who didn't...
EDIT: Evolution does not require faith...It just requires looking at the evidence that has been discovered with an open mind...
