I checked my local grocery stores, but I can't find them, and me and my friends miss them.

I usually see them at the convenience stores w/ gas stations. heh

I can't speak for the U.S. but in the U.K. these can be bought in W.H.Smiths, Wilkinson's and The Works at the very least and I'd guess that sets can be bought in many discount stores such as Poundland also. They certainly had plenty ready for the Christmas sales. The bargain stores might be the best place for your customer to look. Certainly fewer people actually write letters these days but it is still a needed item. Writing pads and envelopes can be bought separately in many shops, even supermarkets sell a limited selection of such things plus assorted pens, pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners and items like paper clips, drawing pins etc. Some things will never go totally out of fashion I'm sure.
