Is your dog an important part of your relationship. If it is I think that is a great way, but make sure she sees it, maybe tie a ribbon to it so she will notice something different about the collar. Sounds good though

That's how my best friend's husband proposed to her. It's definitely a cute idea but he had the added problem that she didn't notice the ring for a while (about 30 minutes). If your dog is pretty intelligent then it will eventually alert her that something is different (what happened in my friend's case) but if it isn't then she may never notice it and you'll have to run out there and take the ring off the dog's neck anyway.
I like it but you have to weigh your girlfriend's keen sense, the intelligence of the dog, etc. You could tie the entire ring box around the dog's neck so she can't miss it.
Good luck!

I think it is a very original idea. Maybe to keep the ring from getting lost and her not noticing it, could you tie the ring box to the dogs collar. It would be much more noticeable and you wouldnt have to worry about the dog eating it. Then you could be in the room when she actually opens it to pop the question.

Cute, but she won't notice it. My dog wakes me up all the time, and there could be a 10-carat ring there and I wouldn't see it. A better idea would be to tie the ring to a big bow, and put the bow around the dog's neck. She'll see the bow and so will see the ring when she looks closer.

Its cute. I would tie something to the collar so she notices it like a big bow. When she goes to look at the bow she will see the ring. Or you couldd even find a box that the ring would fit in and tie that to the dogs collar. Just make sure you are around to ask her the question.

Somebody said this was an original idea. It isn't an original idea. This was done in the film "Meet The Parents" where Greg Focker puts the ring on Jinkies collar and the cat jumps on the bed and he takes the ring off the cat and he proposes that way.
If she hasn't seen this film, it will work, but if she has seen it, then she may think you try to damn hard and you have to be pathetic and get ideas off of films just to be romantic.

Cute Idea... adorable actually... if you are worried that about her not seeing the ring or feeling it leave her a note also attached to the dogs collar a small one with the ring inside... just an idea... :) but yeah... she will be thrilled I am sure! :)
Happy Friday!

Good idea, but incase she did not see the ring, suggest you add a big red ribbon on your dog's collar with the ring.

If she's REALLY into the dog, as in she considers the dog a member of the family, like a son or daughter, then yes, that's really cute. If she's blasé about the dog, then you might consider a more traditional or romantic way of doing it. The key is to find a way to do it that SHE will like.

that does sound like a good idea, she'll be in a good mood so she won't mind the dog..unless she doesn't like the dog!and in case she doesn't see the ring on the dog just take it of him without her seeing you and just pop the question!!
GOOD LUCK
