You may as well bring it up now....he might not be into Valentine's Day like you "aren't" yourself. haha.
Maybe suggest that since you have been dating the enormously long time of 10 whole days, you would like to make him a cool dinner and each get each other a funny Valentines Day card.
That way it takes the heat off him if he's not ready to gush all over you and you don't have to buy him anything either. Yet, if he is a romantic, he'll show up with more than a card. Perhaps some flowers or candy or a small gift.
And you can have a fancy dessert made and/or have a plate of cookies baked for him. Guys love cookies.
However, if you are a terrible baker, just skip it and buy some nice cookies. There is nothing more disgusting that a woman thinking it is "cute" to buy the pre made cookies, bake them and then coat them with that fake nasty tube of red or pink frosting. UGH. Then the poor guy has to sit there and eat them like they are great.

And look at the good side there will be less people... And I havent had a Valentines date since 2001... So you and I are on the same boat..

Leave it. Valentine's day was invented by the card companies to make people spend money, and feel bad about themselves and their relationships.
Your's is a new relationship and instead of making a big deal out of one day just concentrate on trying to get to know him better and make every day good with honesty and sincerity.
Pressuring him, esp this early on, probably won't feel good or natural to either of you.
I say on Feb 14th, give him a call to let him know you're thinking of him, hope he has a great day, and then do something fun for yourself.

Bring it up and see if you can have your own V-day like the next day or the day before so you can still celebrate the holiday of love

celebrate it on another day. thats what me and my bf are doing. i havent had a decent v-day in a few yrs either, but this one was supposed to be good except as a manager he now has to work. we decided to do it that weekend. think on the positive side - restaurants wont be as crowded, theaters, etc wont either. but if ur bummed about spending evening w/o him do a pampering evening just for u (hot bath, good book, movie, etc) or go out iwth friends

Work is a priority and he cannot help that he has to work. So don't bring it up. It is not the day that is the meanful issue but the relationship!

I would not mention it to him, let him surprise you, he may get you something on his own but if he does not well at least you know he was not thinking about you.
