The mystical traditions say that the Greater Self is part of God. Sufis often use the analogy of God as the ocean, the individual as a drop of sea water splashed up from the spray. That which we are made up is of the same Essence, but is not the entire Essence. The goal of the Sufi is to realize the Real or Greater Self and to tame the small self, or ego. Note that the ego is tamed, not annihilated; this is one way Sufi methods are different from other mystical paths.

Some people would like to think so, and there are some religions that try to make it so. There is the part of us that wants to be god. But if you are talking about 'really', then no. The self is not God, and that is a good thing. Look how confused our selves can be, and how limited our selves are. It's a good thing that 'really' God is God and above and beyond us in wisdom and love and power.

you may not learn god to issues like santa or the easter bunny. One reason is via the fact it lowers your guy or woman argument. So supply up doing it in case you do not desire to look like an fool. yet another excuse is via the fact the seen god isn't the comparable using fact the seen santa.the assumption of santa has been around for per risk a pair hundred years or so.And became into around in some countries.God even nonetheless, has been around using fact the break of day of time, in very almost each way of existence world extensive. The names could have replaced (notice: supply up applying the "why do not you have confidence in zeus" argument besides.for this very reason) however the assumption remains the comparable. An all understanding being or beings who created the universe and existence, and who watches over us even now. purely 2 of the stupid arguments i've got heard atheist use (not asserting theist do not pull out some bull **** too)

Let's not mix religions ....God is somebody else , not me.But...Yes, it is true , we have a soul which is not created, is made by Him and comes from Him , due to His powers of God.So we are like sons and daughters but we are not gods, because we are made by Him ,we are conceived by Him, we are not God, we cannot make a world, we cannot make a flower we can only paint it,we cannot make a child we can only give birth, so we are not eternal, but we can become, if we listen to God.
So the self is something natural coming from God...
Ego-centric means selfish...If we want to go to God , we musn't be ego-centric , because God wants us to be like brothers and sisters , because He is the Father of all of us...He is also your Father...not only my Father...So you are equal to me...There is no reason , to be selfish, ego-centric...and keep everithing(money and wisdom )just for yourself...you can give money...you can also give wisdom ...they can copy from you at their school tests...no problem..God knows who deserves....best place near by Him...if you have enemies.....

If that were the case Jesus would not have died on the cross to enabled us to repent our sins and be forgiven so we can go to Heaven. If you do not believe in God, I would do some real deep soul searching and study the Bible before I made a judgment. How accurate could your opinion be if you haven't read the Bible!
