They will remember you, but it may take a little while for them to get used to you. You being gone has nothing to do with their attitude change, by the way. They grew up, and those breeds are defenders by nature. Their barking may not be anything more than telling people to leave their masters and home alone, or even just "talking". Dogs learn that as they get older and grow used to and comfortable with their voices (just as children begin to talk more and bable when they learn to use their voice).
The best way to approach them is to do so just as you would if you didn't know them, that way they don't freak out when you come running up to them expecting hugs and kisses. Once they smell you and remember that your scent was a good one (even little Simba), they will be all over you with love and affection.
Good luck!

More than likely they will not remember you well especially Simba, as for Fido she may remember you but it will take some time. I would be very cautious when you approach them... look for the signs of aggression, if they are wagging their tails lean down on one knee and reach your hand low so that they can smell you. When they see that you are not a "threat" they will want to play... they will only be around a year old so they wont be full grown yet... I hope you are able to acquire a relationship with them once again!

When we got my german shepherd puppy, my sister was home for total of three days. Several months later, though the puppy was very stranger-shy, when my sister came home for another visit, the puppy remembered her like she had never left!
Never underestimate the power of bonding time with puppies. You may want to err on the side of caution, and approach them slowly, as you would another person's dogs that you didn't know, but I would bet they will remember you.

Animals have an amazing memory. I hadn't seen my friends dog in over a year and a half and when I went back to visit, he jumped in my lap like I was his best friend. He remembered I had rescued him after he was hit by a car. They will remember you and love and kiss you.

Dogs "recognises" through your body scent and they can remember it for life. However, if your encounter was when they are a very young puppy, it may not be remembered as well as they would have if they are in their adult hood

They may bark at you, at first. Let them sniff your hand and get used to you before you start to pet them or grab at them or anything. That might scare them a little. They'll get used to you again in no time.
