Have you had anyone diagnose why you get SI pain? It could be vertebral related or it could be pyriformis syndrome. If it is pyriformis syndrome stretches and changing you posture can do GREAT things. Find out why before you medicate and cover up the pain, it is there fore a reason after all.

Have you considered having an injection into the area to alleviate the pain? This can work for many months it varies with each individual. Also anti inflammatory medication can help reduce the pain When you are not using your SI belt. Ask your doctor for alternative methods to your belt. I'm sure they will have many ideas as well.

My professional opinion is to seek out the help of a Physical Therapist in your area. No one should have to live with SI pain because it is a treatable and curable dysfunction. I have successfully treated hundreds of SI cases with great success using manual methods to put the pelvis back into a neutral alignment and then through simple core stability exercises taught the client how to keep it there. Hope this helps.
