My question is, how tall is God. I ask this as a serious question knowing that all Theists are going to ignore it, since I am an Atheist.

Many of the religious right belief that God dissapproves of Gay Marriage, and I feel that this means they know the thoughts of God. I just don't understand how we can know the thoughts of God but not know how tall God is.

But thats ok, I'm sure that the theists will ignore this question.

God is spirit! God has no height! You do not know this but by trying to cause fear, doubt, unbelief, and division among believers. You are doing the Devils work! I pray that nothing you or any other disbeliever will say will bring about the Devils wanted ends. I take authority this and everyday that God is good and God shall provide! I pray that in no way will you be able to influence anyone to ever turn away from our Lord and savior! Most of all I pray that the Lord God will remove all condemnation of others be taken from off of your heart and that you will accept all people as equals.I pray that one day this bitterness will be gone from you and that you will come to know the Love and forgiveness of God!

theists have self assurance in God that's genuine even nevertheless it is not definitely the actuality. not all the theists have self assurance God as omnipresent. Theists have their very own way of believing distinctive factors of God.There are just some theists who definitely see God in each creation alongside with atheists. And there are even fewer theists who act for this reason.

Why would you want to guilt theists into answering when as an athiest you shouldn't even care?

But since you obviously do care I'll take the bait. I'm a theist and I have to tell you that in trying to measure G-d you are trying to humanize him, and why should anyone put their faith and hope in something human? Humans are proven to be imperfect and G-d is perfect so He shouldn't be held up to human standards.

And as for the Gay Marriage issue (which is a moot point to your question but since you brought it up I'll mention it), the Tenakh (Old Testament) brings up homosexuality numerous times, Leviticus 18:22 says "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." And since it is on the Tenakh it is definitely aimed towards a male audience. Also, in Genesis the men of Sodom tried to break into Lot's house to sleep with the men that had arrived in the city that day. That incident was an example of why G-d destroyed the city soon after. So homosexuality is in the Bible and it is condemned in the Bible, how could we miss that? (And if we have, how can we consider ourselves G-d's children?)

Very interesting question and comment. OK, here are my thoughts:

How tall is God?
Tall enough to encompass the Universe and yet small enough to dwell within the heart.

As a believer, I do not pretend to understand the true nature of God, much less know the thoughts of God. But I will say that I have Sufi brothers and sisters who are homosexuals, and if they wished to wed, I would be proud and honored to officiate at the service.

Not all God concepts are the same.

I am a theist. This is what I think.

Heretofore, God's ancestors were dinosaur size. I am sorry to drop this dime on you, so abruptly. However,

This was probably no surprise to the astute evolutionist. Except for that one big Asteroid that hit the Yucatan Peninsula about 65 million years ago, we earthly humans would have had to evolve big enough to survive a few of those meat eaters.

Have you guessed it? How did the scientists, bio-chemists, and engineers solve the overpopulation problem that was bound to happen on a planet with dinosaur sized humans; on Planet Big H (Heaven)?

Miniaturization solved the overpopulation problem; from dinosaur size to human size.

However, it sterilized the people while they were in the shrunken stage. When permitted by the newly re-established APC, they could temporarily be reconstructed to a size which would allegedly allow child bearing.

Surprisingly, the plan did not work as promised; the shrinking was irreversible.

So now, Planet H (Heaven) needs some harmony-loving folks to come and be good neighbors to God's neighbors.

4 thumbs down:(I love the attention)

Do the pseudo-theists who call themselves theists and righteous by supporting Religious Empires think that God came from nowhere? - Do they not know that - when they deny God a prior existence, they are only a few steps away from agreeing with their arch enemies?

Noone can presume to know anything about God other than what is written in the Bible. The Bible states that homosexuality is an abomination, so it follows naturally that since it is an abomination, any type of homosexual activity including marriage is an abomination, and therefore not pleasing to God. He would not approve of gay marriage in light of these other truths. BTW - you misspelled i-g-n-o-r-i-n-g. Making the atheists look ignorant and uneducated there, Jim. Remember, y'all link yourselves to science, so get it right.

Not specifically stated in Scripture how tall God is, but Psalms says that God's hand is the span of the universe. So if you have any idea how big the universe is than you have a starting point to fathom the unfathomable heights of God's stature.

Gay marriage is just the start of the slippery slope of immorality in the public square. In other words, if it is legal to have two men marry why not a man and a horse , or a man and his grandson, or a man and a tree with lots of holes in it. Can't you see this logic. And you may be thinking that these things would never happen. But I would also say that the founding father's of this country did not foresee homosexual marriage in the 18th Century.

The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:

"Say: He is Allah,
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
[Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

OK, I'll bite. : ) God does not have dimensions. He is a Spirit. I don't know why you brought up the gay marriage thing in relation to this question. Christians are using God's word and God's Spirit to understand God. Yes, the Bible says God does not approve of homosexuality -- but neither does he approve of lying, gluttony, or divorce -- things of which many Christians are guilty. The things of which God does not approve and simply not God's best plan for our lives, but it does not mean we need be alienated from him forever. Have a nice day.

Oh Jim, you know we all do not believe that stuff, come on. Okay...I am a theist...I do not know how tall God is or what he looks like...I am sure he is NOT Santa Claus in a long robe with a good and bad list.

I cannot speak for God or what he approves of or does not approve of, I do not know God's thoughts.
